Silently ... raptly,
I adore my dusky lover.
Firm sweet body
Limned by the waning light.
Queenly ... radiant,
as she contemplates the spreading darkness.
Innocent of intent,
She transcends mortal charm.
Dark shimmering tresses
touch sweet perfect shoulders.
Her ivory negligee, a translucent thought,
Caresses her artistically sculpted back, waist,
And intimately cleft buttocks.
Seeing her thus
I cannot profane this sublime enchantment,
Not with a single softly spoken word,
Nor the most ethereal touch.

Inspired by a picture I took of Leah as she looked out my bedroom window as the sun was setting ... my first venture into the world of free verse poetry.

As I get older I adopt new habits and drop old ones. What don't you do anymore that you used to do quite regularly?

Some of mine:

I used to do hard drugs.
I used to go out of my way to keep the peace. (I still do to a lesser extent)
I used to be totally focused on my looks (before and after the hard drugs)
I used to bounce checks.
I used to shave my legs as a matter of course.
I used to masturbate a few times a day.
I used to be more concerned with whether or not people "understood" me.
I used to like the NY Giants.
I used to cook for pleasure.

I used to catch typos. The thread title should read "What did you used to do that you don't do anymore?"

The woman and I were watching some movie last night (I forget the title, part of the point of this thread) and one of the actresses was putting the moves on one of the pushover actors. You know, slinking up to the guy while he sat on his desk, all big eyes and red lips.

Me: "Awh, man... she did the pouty boob thing. He's done. Game over."

Her: "Wait, she did what?"

Me: "The pouty boob thing! It's where chicks lean forward and put their elbows close together. Maximum boobage. Guaranteed success follows. You're a girl; you should know this."

Her: "Oooh." *tries it, smiles, waves shoulders back and forth, giggles* "Like this?"

Me: "Yes. My God, stop it!"

Her: "Heh, why?"

Me: "Because I can't not look at it! It makes me stupid. And it makes me do whatever you want."

I still find it hard to believe that a woman with tits that friggin' nice is just now discovering this technique.

That and she deployed said technique again later that night...

So a month or so ago I saw a trailer for this new miniseries in Canada called Bomb Girls. The title tells it all really: its about a Toronto-based factory in the 1940s that made bombs for the soldiers overseas, a factory with mostly women in it. First episode aired January 4th. I got the chance to watch it tonight, and it was just as awesome as I suspected.

If you get a chance, I high recommend watching the pilot episode. Especially if you like shows set in a certain time period, like me. Its not all light and fluffy like you might suspect either, there's violence, all kinds of aggression, and already there's been a horrific accident at the factory, one that made my stomach flip. Its fascinating, a real insight into the life one had to live at the time.
