According to the article, he could get as little as two years. Let's hope not.

I would expect his sentence to be much closer to the max allowable than the absolute minimum.

I'll also be interested to see if they bother with another trial for the additional victims that have come forward. My guess is that will hinge on the sentence he gets.

Any word on an appeal? I don't know, but maybe additional charges could be brought against him and new witnesses allowed to testify in the event his lawyer gets him an appeal?

I would really hate to see this guy get out in his lifetime and so often it seems like celebrity cases such as this one, don't follow the norm. I'm cynical, yes.

In his warped mind he might actually consider himself innocent by virtue of whatever justifications and rationalizations he's put in place to convince himself he is.

Now he's blaming the victims for making it up. His reasoning is that they came from poor backgrounds so we should believe him over them. Disgusting.

I'm pretty shocked also. I wasn't expecting the 442 to be handed down, but I was thinking a number over 100 was almost guaranteed. If there was ever a case to use to set an example, this was it and the Justice Department failed miserably.

I'm surprised at that sentence. The minimum of 30 years is less than a year on each count and only 3 years for each victim (not including those that have come forward since). He's not going to get out, but because he's not would it have killed the judge to load him up with sentence even halfway to the max? To make a clear and undeniable statement that pedophilia is taken seriously regardless of wealth or fame - to a world where many still regard young children as "fair game?"

I was blown over by this comment below, wondering if Sandusky is so intent on the possibility of getting his hands on some younger inmates that he can't see the possible threat general pop poses to his own life.
Thing is, he'd probably find a way to get what he wants at no risk to himself. Can't underestimate manipulators of his caliber.

The only way this fucking sicko makes it longer than 3 years in G.P. is by joining the Aryan Brotherhood and bending over on a regular basis. Even then, it's highly doubtful he'll last long.

Legal analysts are convinced he received the proper sentence, but I disagree. He has almost zero chance of this being overturned via appeal and the judge should have used him to set an example. If the NCAA felt it necessary to use Penn State as an example (perhaps too harshly) then the justice system should certainly have done the same. It's almost a slap in the face to the victims by giving such a low punishment, but at least we can take some solace in the fact that he'll die in prison... be it from old age or a shank fest.

It appears he'll be going into a low security prison environment. Usually populated by non-violent offenders. It's not a given that any of the inmates will be of a nature or disposition towards shanking.

I think the worse thing that will happen to him is that he'll have to accept bonking or getting bonked by men his own age.

Do you have a problem with him being forced fed a big cock down his throat or up his ass, first?

As a parent, my gut reaction is the same as yours rogue, but then my brain kicks in and creates all sorts of devious images of how the last years of his life could be made just as unpleasant as he made the lives of those young boys.

-bound and gagged with his own shit in his mouth while being fucked in the ass until his intestines prolapse and then fucked some more for good measure-

Guess I'm more of an eye for an eye gal.

No, Joniemack I'd just rather not go to his level of depravity.
For me, it's simply removing a stain from the Earth.

If we go to inflicting pain for any length...then we end up as dark as the culprit himself.
I'd rather not he get some abstract benefit of negativity by us trying to "get even".

Do the deed, be done with it...enough is enough.
