ok there were a few things i wanted to get off my chest about this episode.

    - i really liked the battle with the riot gear guard zombies. it felt like they were bosses in a video game because you couldn't take them out as easily with those helmets on. i was freaked out.

    - i really didn't like the fact that they burned through all that ammo out in the yard in broad daylight when they could have just taunted the zombies and meleed them through the fence like they did with half of them, and then they turned around and said they were low on ammo and had to go hand to hand only inside the dark prison.

-i also didn't like that they told the kid to stay back and risked hershel on the mission. either hold both back or send the kid instead i'd say; you need hershel's medical knowledge a lot more than his hand to hand fighting ability.

They won't put Carl in mortal danger, kill Carl, ever. The TV Walking Dead story is about Rick and Carl's 'evolution.'

The zombies are responding less to taunting now, are moving faster, and as much as I disagree with this tactic, are in fact getting 'smarter' the longer they are zombies. I don't get this at all--except for upping the danger to the humans thereby creating more drama. We were led to believe that walkers are blind as their eyes are non-functioning, yet many of them are seeing not just hearing or sensing.

Real-world logic would end most television shows much sooner than we'd like to see them end. They create drama so the show can move ahead.

Question: Walking Dead spoilers — maybe something on Episode 2?

Ausiello: Just because the show killed off several characters last season doesn’t mean that the Grim Reaper isn’t still on speed-dial. In fact, having seen Sunday’s episode, I can tell you that not everyone who’s alive when the hour starts will still have a pulse when it ends.

Question: Does Walking Dead‘s second episode give us more Michonne/Andrea than we got in the premiere?

Ausiello: Less if you can believe it! Sunday’s ep takes place entirely on the grounds of the prison. (And you thought T-Dog didn’t get enough screentime!) But their time in the spotlight is coming — Robert Kirkman told me as much last week. Meanwhile, if and when Andrea meets back up with Rick & Co, expect a tense reunion. “I think it will be really heated,” speculates her portrayer, Laurie Holden. “Andrea doesn’t know if she was abandoned, left behind; she doesn’t know if they are alive. I can only imagine that it would be completely surreal.”

Yeah, but it's kinda gross... Isn't Carl supposed to be like 10 or 12 and Beth closer to 16 or 17? Yuck.

He has a little boy crush on her, which she thinks is sweet. Gosh ppl, get your heads out of the gutter!

    Comic book spoiler:
As I mentioned, TWD is essentially Carl's & Rick's story. In the comics, from which the show is based, Sophia (Sophia!!!) did not die, rather she and Carl continued to be best buds until something happened to Carl that made her not want to be his friend. In the TV show they need someone who isn't a bossy adult for Carl to interact with, maybe start really caring about, so when she gets offed it will push him more into his role as child soldier.

awesome episode! they vindicated themselves in my eyes by acknowledging it was a mistake to take hershel haha. the stand down was just visceral and gripping, and the way the sheriff handled it totally jibed with riding the razor's edge of morality that they are presented with in the story imho. gives me high hopes for the rest of the season!

I don't get that show. It's constant camera close-up on actors faces with stunned expressions. Too slow for me.

What was strange? Let's pretend I never read the comics but as a TV viewer, watching The Walking Dead I know that 1. Carl is the only 12-13 y.o. in the bunch of zombie apocalypse survivors. And he lost the only kid friend he had in the bunch--Sophia. I know that Beth is a teenager of about 16-17 who just lost her brother (in the RV, last episode of Season 2). They've got an entire winter of nothing but survival and being with one another 24/7. IDK. Do little boys not get 'crushes' on older girls any more? Like a schoolboy crush? I saw nothing in her expression that made it 'weird.'

Watch or do not watch. I write a lot about The Walking Dead because people want to read about the show, but fuck it. You don't find me in the Politics or Weapons Forums because I don't wish to argue. Discuss yes, but not bitch & complain and add nothing to anything.

  17. I had a dream last night that I was in Rick's group. We walked into a building where there were shelves and shelves of zombie heads. I left the building with Rick, Michonne and her zombie boy toys to go meet up with the others. The room full of Zombie heads wasn't as disturbing as Rick stopping to finger me while we're surrounded by zombies. It was cool because Michonne was taking them down. We had time.

I wonder what that all meant....

I haven't been reading this thread because I haven't been watching the show. I keep hearing about it though.

I need to start Season 2. I took too long to get around to it after it aired and the first three episodes disappeared off of on-demand. Disappointing.

I really want to see it, but Netflix only has Season 1. Boo!
