Yes I knew that. The only thing I can think of that I have seen at all that he appears in is the recent Cowboys and Aliens film where his native accent would have been understandably out of place, much like Stephen and Anna's proper London and Kiwi accents would sound completely out of place on Trueblood.

A great majority of what I watch on Netflix is BBC programming, and many of my fondest memories of shows from my younger years were BBC as well.
Benny Hill is still my favourite comedian in the more recent (Television) era by far and Rowan and Tony playing the various incarnations Black Adder and Baldrick ranks high on that as well. Are You being Served is a timeless classic that if anything has improved with age.
Never have watched that Sherlock show but it did sound interesting. I do enjoy that Being Human show but the idea of a version of it having American actors and accents sounds a bit wrong to me on some level.

I don't typically enjoy movies. I took Aerie to see The Hobbit recently, she asked how I liked it. I told her it was too long. After about 45 minutes, I'm bored. I don't care who is in it, I probably won't recognize them anyways. I have no clue what other movies were directed by the same person, don't know who most of the actors are, I simply am not that interested.

LOVE, love, love that show. Despite the modern setting, it actually follows the books pretty well.

  4. Not too often. I have a hard time justifying the expense when I can rent the movie a few months later for a couple of dollars. I'd rather spend our entertainment dollars elsewhere.

    This.

I think the only movie I saw in the theater in all of 2012 was "The Avengers". And that was mainly because we were on vacation with family who wanted to go see a matinee showing on the one day it rained while we were there.

I'd rather watch something on Netflix or Amazon 3 months later for free, or a few dollars than spend $40 (by the time you add popcorn and a couple drinks) on something that I may or may not enjoy.

I live in the sticks and have a very nice home theater. Amazon will deliver a blu-ray to my door for a third of what it costs to go out. Toss in better snacks, alcohol, and no assholes and I have no reason to go out.

I go infrequently enough that I inevitably forget the last movie that I saw... one exception being this past Sunday to see Don Jon.

I love going to the movies. We go when there is a film I wish to see. No one ever suggests going except me but the three of us like to go, enjoy it (or not) and chat about it afterword. I still like a dinner and movie date, too.
I like the whole big-screen experience with comfy seats. So few people go these days that by the second weekend of even "big" films there are seats aplenty.
We buy our tickets beforehand from Costco for $7.50. Spouse picks me up a box of Raisinettes for $1.00 and I stash a small bottle of H2O in my purse. I do like the social aspect of it, both pre-movie and post.

With Gravity, there is no way you can reproduce the theatre experience in your TV room.

I love movies at home as well, though rarely have time to watch them. If I do, it's because someone has turned a flick on and I happen by (I cannot resist Shaun of the Dead) and I'll watch a portion of it (again). Otherwise, it's a planned thing on the weekend with spouse and me where at x-o'clock we'll meet in the TV room and watch (whatever).

Movies. I love the experience of going to a movie. You don't have to pause it because someone has to pee. The screens are huge. Its dark. Its special. I have a good sound system at home, better than most. I could feel the air from the subwoofer port on my bare leg from seven feet away. Its still not the same as a wall of speakers behind the screen. They are expensive as crap, but so is everything. I think its the cost of turning forty. I will say that in all my years and numerous viewings, I havr experienced very few movies with any disturbamce of phones or talking. I think many people are repeating the same story over and over again. This isn't fox news, go out and find out for yourself.

That's how I figure it. Also I can pause it to go to the bathroom.

I think Iron Man 3 was the last one we saw.

Would you believe in this weirdness, that Empire Strikes Back topped the box office??? (at drive-ins yet)
‘The Empire Strikes Back’ Wins the Weekend Box Office for First Time in 2 Decades

You'd think their math is wrong...that it came out in 1980 - that's FOUR decades
Except they re-released it in 1997 before the new set starting with Episode 1

Y'know some studio exec is trying to now figure out how to make tons on other old blockbusters
    What also translates to now??
    Ooo...The Matrix "I know kung-fu"

On a smaller scale, Navy Pier in Chicago did this back in 1997-1998; they started showing older films on their IMAX screen on Saturday nights. At first, they showed blockbusters from the previous year (the first Mission: Impossible) but then stretched back further with much older films like the 1989 Batman film, The Road Warrior, all 3 Indiana Jones movies (Yes, I was there for all 3), 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner and The Godfather 2.

I spoke to the manager who said they were attempting to acquire a print of Jaws, but as I never saw it advertised I assume their efforts were unsuccessful.

It was a fun opportunity to see some of these films (again) on the big screen. (and I must mention that an IMAX screen is enormous.)

We took our children to the theater for Thanksgiving. I bought them Anna and Elsa stuff and we saw Frozen 2 in costumes. We made it a super special event. We expected a crowd but we were the only ones there. So we danced around outside then goofed off around the theater's arcade until it started.

It was absolutely phenomenally memorable. It was everything I wish I could have had in a movie experience when I was a kid. Tons of popcorn, sweet soda, happy parents, a good movie. At the time it seemed over the top, but even my husband thanked me for setting up a really special day.

And now that there's a pandemic, I am all the more grateful that we went all-out with that experience.

I don't want to seem pessimistic, but I doubt I will see another movie in a theater.

    I wish I could go.
I haven't seen any drive-in offers in my area.
