Officially you need a license to use most of the channels on those. In reality... they're sold in such numbers that it's virtually impossible to enforce.

I ran pirate ham radio as a kid. FCC used to have t-hunting vans in my neighborhood.

These will be fun. So far all 28 work. I thought when I bought the lot that maybe only 5-10 would work. Great score 28 for the price of 6.

I'm curious if those are region 1 or region 2 versions. Nice shot of Roswell in the corner there too.
I don't know about you, but it bugs me every time I hear the Syfy commercials calling their version of Being Human a "syfy original"

They are actually region 4. Australia.
I haven't seen the American version yet. Everyone told me the UK version was better.

Have you seen Roswell? It wasn't bad.
The first season looked old. (Made in the late 90s I think)
    But the rest got better.

I only saw an episode or two of the American version. I didn't like it as much, but I tend to like a number of UK shows so I might be biased.
I have seen Roswell. It is an older show, but it's not bad. One thing I found out was that due to the cost of licensing, the dvd's have different music than it had originally on tv. I didn't see it much on tv, but I don't think it's enough of a difference to matter.

    Ha. Learn something new everyday.
I don't really watch much tv anymore. I can't stand the ads.
I just wait till things come out on dvd.

UK was thousands of times better. I watched one episode of the US seefee version and vowed never to turn it on again.

Bugger. I'm almost onto season 4.
I was thinking about taking a chance with the American version...

I don't watch tv much these days either. Partly because I don't have a dvr anymore.
Once you have one, it kinda spoils you and you can't go back.

When it comes to US remakes of UK shows, I think I'll always prefer the UK versions.
If only I had access to the actual BBC channels and not just BBCA.

    Ha.
Maybe i'll just watch this one instead...

When it comes to most remakes the original is better.
In my opinion. I know there are exceptions.
