I've sported the Van Dyke for years now.

I more recently have experimented with lengthening it out below the mouth with good results.

This infographic has inspired me for another turn in that direction.

I've only gone full beard a couple of times but to no great length. The SO gets too intimidated I guess. Anything to make her feel safer.

Does this mean women are less scared of my full beard because it is so, uh, abbreviated?

    I only do clean-shaven or 3-day beard.

Usually 3-day beard because my SO goes gaga over it. :D

She also wants me to have longer-than-normal hair on my head...

    Shit, ladies love this beard.

They say it's soft like clouds...

Or, they would if they could stop cowering in fear of its radiant glory.

I think this thread needs more attention in light of the bearded gentlemen thread.

Also, beards are kinda really in now.

    But will it last?

There are so many problems and unanswered questions about beards (see below). I guess a lot of women don't like them.

I really want to grow a full beard, but I'm not sure the SO will buy it.

Well, I'm a woman and I love them. I'm sure that's quite a surprise to many of the folks around here, since I am so modest and understated about it all the time. :p

Of course, I would really love for the trend to last because I really love (love, love) beards. But I suppose if a bunch of people are growing them just to be in style, then it's inevitable that it will pass.

(please let it at least last through the winter.)

I've had a beard for over 20 years now but only recently grew in a full beard. It came after the trauma of shaving off my van dyke.

Given how much I disliked what my naked face looked like, I don't suppose I will ever shave off my beard. That said, I still need to figure out at what length I want to keep the full beard (especially in this heat).

    kramus what I might see

Interesting thread. Sort of. I usually shave after 3-4 days. My Lady likes to be scratched, and after 3 days the beard is too soft to be good for anything but a gentle stroking of her delicate femininity. She likes to be scrubbed hard. So out comes the razor. 24-36 hours later my regrown whiskers have acquired the bite she likes to feel on her back and ribs. The things I do for that woman . . .

Any way, here is a stroll down memory lane.

I first joined TFP about the time I decided that even though I was physically unable grow a beard, that didn't mean I couldn't stop shaving.

I didn't shave for several months. Then one day I decided it was time to put an end to this. Observe, and decide for yourself what you feel is most worthy of emulation.

Kramus, you with a beard is how I always picture you. Probably because it was how I first met you.
