You are correct, of course, but I'd rather not discuss it right now.

Piercings create more skin surface area and stimulate in ways that external adornments can't. There's also the psychological naughtiness factor.

Yes, the psychological naughtiness factor. If anyone met me, or even saw a photo of me, they would never figure me for someone to have a body piercing.

My wife wants me to get at least one nipple pierced, my response is if I 'm going to go for it I'd get both done. In fact we might go together, my nipples & her clit hood re-done. One major factor for me is the weather here so damned hot pretty much year round I tend to wear shirts with no undershirt. I would get the captive ball rings because they are easier to play with, but they (the balls) are more visible when wearing 'light' clothing. If I were much younger, or bolder???, I wouldn't worry about the visibility.

The nipple piercings would include the psychological naughtiness factor and actual sexual stimulation. Women aren't the only ones who benefit from nipple play ;) .

We all want a lot of things that aren't necessarily healthy. That doesn't mean that wanting them makes them healthier.

I am by no means trying to imply that I am some paragon of health and stability; and I get that we all have our issues. But that doesn't make what seems to be masochistic behavior without context appear any healthier to me. And, with all due respect, I do think ideas are different than body modifications, in that ideas by nature are transient, and readily change; and if unexpressed, involve minimal risk; whereas body modifications by nature are permanent, difficult to alter, and involve some substantive risk. A risk which could potentially be justifiable, given the proper context, but is not justified, IMO, merely by the existence of a desire.

Yeah, I still don't see it. I get the psychological appeal of naughtiness, I just don't get that being sufficient to justify driving steel through one's tenderest parts.

Again, I am not trying to suggest that anyone's behavior be compelled, or that body modification be prohibited, or those with modifications be forced to abandon them.

I'm just saying that, in my view, it seems...a bit excessive.

Thoughts are not transient. We write our thoughts down here and here they are. I think we just have vastly different ideas about what are very real and significantly positive aspects to using your body as a canvas. I will continue to explore it and continue to be as healthy a person as i can be. Speaking for myself, it's not masochism, it's progress. I understand that you disagree, and considering how much I respect you, it's sad that you're so grievously mistaken and not able to celebrate it with me.

I will even go so far as to say that our thoughts are far less transient than our bodies.

I've have never had any genital piercings myself, though I did have stretched lobes, a nasal septum piercing, and a surface sternum/cleavage piercing at one point. My mom almost hit the roof when she found out I had the septum piercing, but she got over it pretty quickly. I was a 4.0 student at the time I had those piercings AND blue hair, so whatever.

When I was in high school, I dated a guy with genital piercings.. a Jacob's Ladder. It was uncomfortable for both of us (we only had sex a couple times) and I believe he ended up getting rid of the piercings further down the line. I considered a triangle piercing myself for a long time (I don't have a prominent enough clitoral hood to do that), but given that my cartilage piercings and my sternum piercing never healed quite right, I gave up on the idea. I have since let my lobes stretch back to "normal" and my septum piercing is still there but hasn't had jewelry in it for years (I test with a piece of wire maybe once a year), and I just have scars from the sternum piercing.

I know a lot of people in the body modification community and I must say that very little of it makes me squeamish or shocked, because I understand having the desire for it. For a long time I thought about getting scarification done, but again, decided that the whole "healing it" factor made it not a good idea.

If my very conservative mother can get over the idea of me dating a guy with 3 tongue piercings and purple hair, I'm kinda surprised at the closed-mindedness of some of the people in this thread.

I had a brief fling with a guy who, when we first met, had ladder piercings. I have to admit, part of the attraction for me was wondering how it would feel during sex. I was very disappointed to learn that, in the time between us meeting and his relationship ending, he had all the piercings removed (his ex found them to be physically irritating), so I never got to find out.

I'm not big on needles, so genital and nipple piercings are out for me. (I want another tat, though, so take from that what you will.) Also, my dad got his nipples pierced, so it would feel odd to me to get them done.

Hahahaha, Cinn, it would be hilarious if we were talking about the same guy with the ladder. Especially in M-town.

As I see it, people squeamishness with piercing has more to do with personal projection than any sort of reality.

Again, I come back to other types of piercings and how they are generally accepted. Assuming there is no effect to primary function, why do we view our genitals any differently than lips, nipples, ears, etc.

In effect, we are "shoving a rod of metal" through our flesh in each of these cases as well.

It's ornamentation and I would suggest it's less out there than stretching ones earlobes (i.e. one is seen and the other is not).

Is it just the idea of needles poking our junk?

Some body modifications are permanent. Most, but not all, body piercings will close if the jewelry is left out and no effort is made to keep the hole opened up.

Difficult to alter? I don't understand.

The risk is actually minimal if you go to an established piercing parlor. A good parlor will be sanitary and will explain their equipment and procedures. If you're not comfortable with the piercer, you should have the right to ask for someone else, or leave. Perhaps the biggest potential issue with body piercings is inproper aftercare. A good piercer will explain the aftercare procedures, healing time, dos & don'ts, etc. before you get the piercing. I was comfortable with my piercer's explanations, and I did my research before ever deciding to get pierced.

Embellishing your cock w jewelry is a sign of love, not hate. It suggests a pronounced preoccupation with that thing which, to me, is a big turn on.
I'm very pissed that my carefree zipless fuck days happened before that trend caught fire. As far as I'm personally concerned, I have no desire for a needle to be inserted into my yoni.
I do however, enjoy the fantasy aspect of having the procedure performed (strangers between your legs, you know) - I wouldn't go through with it though.

I'm about 75% certain I am going to get my clit hood pierced. I figure if I don't like it I can just let it grow over. I'm all curious-like now.

Yeah... Same situation here. Military. We used to be famous for our worldly tats and sleeves, but now the military is swinging towards a sterilized, professional appearance - exactly the reason I avoided Corporate America. I still don't have any tats or piercings. :(

Why did she leave? Is there a thread on that? Did something go horribly wrong in regards to Tilted Forums..?

  19. Her reasons were hers. She is still well and wonderful as always. The only horrible wrongness is that she is missing and is missed on these pages.

are the rumors true that clithood piercing makes you have gasms always?
my friend's cousin said she will have her clithood pierced if it means lots of gasms.
i'm not sure how it works but i guess it would happen if you squeeze your thighs together and move in ways cos i do that (but no piercing).
