What is your Dream Car?

    Definitely my new dream car.

My husband and I discuss this quite frequently. There are a number of people in our city that drive flashy cars, and I admit that I drool over them. However, most sportscars just aren't practical in the wet PacNW. I tried to persuade my husband to agree to acquiring an Audi TT when I'm older, but he said that he hoped we'd be a carless society by then, or at least be using electric vehicles.

To that, I said I wanted one of these: BMW i8

I don't have a specific dream car per se; I do have a short list of cars I wouldn't mind having if money was plentifully plentiful.

Maybe a classic Duesenberg, a straight eight convertible.
Dodge Challenger convertible, '70 or '71, factory 440 package.
Stingray (Corvette) convertible, early sixties (I'd need to research exactly which year I preferred).
Mercedes Benz 230SL, early to mid '60s (again research required). The 230SL was a relatively small car that was fun to drive (it eventually evolved into the larger, bulkier, & thirstier models).

I've loved them since they came out with the first model X, but I can't fit into those. Insides are awesome, like a rocketship.
But this baby can match a Z51 Corvette Stingray on the drag (watch the vid  ). - Link

Ooo...I desire one, oh so very much. *giggling like a Mad Scientist*
Well, at least I have the baseball cap I got from them.
Strangely enough, I even get compliments and inquiries on just this...

At least, I'm gaining momentum on the budget...and they are going down in price.
So it may be "doable" sooner or later.

I'll just have to drive around New Jersey.

as a kid, I adored the Mustang when it came out. Always thought I would have one when I grew up. But so far that's just not happening - too many other priorities, and they have lost their edge - kind of a common type of vehicle now.

Then I got to drive my mother's car through high school. Looked exactly like this: ( a 1972 model)

It was fun, and even at our 25th reunion, folks were asking if I still had that car...

But the one that I always wanted, and still consider my dream car is the Triumph TR6. I just love the roadster look, the size of the wheels, the stance. I understand that you needed to have your tool box handy if you went for a drive, but, i still love that car.

I really would love to find an A100 Dodge to work on. Such a cool vehicle and so much you can do. 1969-Dodge-A108-Van-1.jpg 1964_carlsbad-ca-1.jpg 392035.jpg ebay509733.jpg

    Here was my speedster..
I paid 8k for it. When mom died I just had too much stuff to deal with so I sold it, got 7.5 k for this vw based intermeccanica speedster after 6 years of daily driving. Sold to a guy who restores 911's no regrets, he was a cool guy and made that solid offer for a car with seized brakes and hadn't been driving in several years. Solid car though, doors shut perfect. Perfect (imho) cornfield fade on the red gel coat. Lots of parts are actual porsche replacement parts..

My other dream car I mentioned was a vanagon truck.
And the EZ30R subaru flat six I swapped into it ez30 engine view.jpg

The engine swap is cool but complicated. I am now thinking of going to a vw 1.8t again.

in 1984 I was working for a guy who lived in White Rock ( a town just south of Vancouver - very close to the our border with the US) who had a blue Intermeccanica. It looked pretty much like your picture. He said it was a company that he had interests in (not sure if it was because him being a stock broker meant that he was a shareholder, or that he just like their cars) and that they made these Porsche replicas. It was a beaut. But he never let me drive it. He did let me drive his Mazda pickup truck tho, so that was something...
