Gadgets - what do you lust after!

I often browse teccy sites when bored and read reviews. This often leaves me lusting after the latest technology. I generally only want it for a short time until the next magic thingy-ma-bob comes along.

I thought it might be nice to share the shiny things we lust after, even if we never buy them, or could ever possibly have a use for them!

So my current 'need' is a Sony Tablet P, (I cant seem to add a link tis greyed out so here is a youtube video instead!)


I'm not entirely sure what I would do with it, or when I would use it but I want it!

What about you what gadgets do you want or have actually gone out and bought?

 

I think I'm going to lust for the iPhone 5. Not so much lust but need. No contract to worry about, currently using a plain old cell phone with limited capabilities. Since I have an iPad, an iPhone makes some sense, I guess. Have to wait and see.

 

I want an iPad2. I bought my sweetie an iPad last year, but she won't let my play with it anymore. She got pissed I was finishing all her Scrabble games.

 

Lately I've been lusting for a nice hand plane.

 

Lenses - I have a list my available money cannot even begin to match that includes: 50 MM f 1/4, zoom lens, macro lens

 

I have been looking at ice cream machines. I likely won't buy one but I would really love to have one.

 

I actually found a smaller one used in a thrift store for $3. One of my favorite kitchen purchases! I don't have many toys and gadgets at all so this was a nice treat.

I am really not usually a techy lust person but I have been positively drooling for an e-reader after realizing the sorry state of the Chicago Library system, and my alternative being spending $160 to purchase all the books for the series I am reading right now.

 

Camera gear. I'm lusting for some quality lenses, and a studio lighting kit...

Yes I want a new camera but I need a handbag sized camera. I need a replacement for my Panasonic TZ10, the images are just too grainy! I just cant decide what to get because I like the zoom, Hd video and geo-tagging of my Panasonic, just cant find anything to replace it. In fact I think what I want is still imaginary...... I would love my camera to multitask and be able to have mapping and geocaching abilities!

I couldn't even guess what this was for n just had to read all about it! Sounds like they should come as standard with a drumkit!

 

Probably - but with my luck I would end up confirming the "Brown note" myth during a gig...

If you have a smart phone you let the camera take care of the photographing, and the phone do gps/geo caching/logging.

 

Yea my next phone will probably be more capable. My 4 phones since 1999 have been the Nokia 5110 (my granny still uses it today), Nokia 8310, (had to have on/off button soldered approx 4 times), Nokia 6230 and my current phone Nokia 5800. The camera on my current phone is pants! I will only update my phone when it either breaks (which is unlikely as all but one of my nokias are still in use, and the one that's not is fixable at the market for only £5) or when I find a much better phone (not on contract as I live in a signal free area so use my phone for mp3's and alarm clock on a daily basis!

 

I've seen them and they look great. I just can't justify the cost right now.

I suppose if I could find one like amonkie's for $3, I'd have to say yes.

Maybe, if I am lucky, my family will get me one for Christmas.
