Supposed to be in the upper 80s again today. It's been so hot and dry here the last several weeks that the fire danger, which is usually pretty low in the Willamette Valley, has shot through the roof.

  3. Would have been a lovely day for late October.

Rained hard enough that I saw a couple manhole covers that had blown out of their holes. Almost hit one with my car.

Lindy - do you live in NE? I grew up in KS. Just south of the border, by about 15 minutes.

Our weather is finally cooling off a bit, low/mid 80s instead of mid/high 90s. The problem is unless the humidity also drops it's hard to tell the difference.

It's also cooling off here--from upper 80s-low 90s to 70s and below. I went out without a jacket yesterday and was filled with regret.

Some parts of Lincoln had 9 inches of rain yesterday. My neighbor's gauge read a little over seven.

As of September 1, Hawaii is still about 85 degrees with about 80% humidity, occasional rain but mostly clear blue skies. I am leaving in a mere 2 weeks though, and will miss this place a lot :(

You mean October 1? Jax is low 80s and overcast or raining nearly every day. Weird.

I'm really in Lincoln, sometimes it just seems like dreary. I grew up in SW Kansas, went to school at Emporia State, ended up in Lincoln by way of Chicago and Boston.

We've had lows only in the mid-50s the last couple of days with daytime highs in the mid-80s. It does not feel like fall in that case. It's been teasing us like this for a couple of weeks.
