Seriously, though. The way things have gone since March, I'm beginning to believe in gods and that they are displeased with me.

I've been acting like a workaholic since then despite the fact that I'm pretty much the opposite of that. It's crushing my spirit.

Than if the Republicans are to be believed you must be rich, right?

So -- you pile manuscripts on top of it?

No -- the Republicans are the very ones who broke the connection between hard work and affluence. In America, the hardest working people are the poorest.

New Republican formula: if your parents were wealthy, then you are rightfully wealthy. If your parents were poor, then you are rightfully poor, and shame on you for making such bad choices.

No, but I do keep it in a box under stacks of books that I think never should've been published. Perhaps I should also stab it with fountain pens after dipping the nibs in a mixture of ink jet ink, toner, and cheap tea.

Trying to decide what to do today. My to-do list is thankfully short for a Monday.

Glad this week and next are short weeks, that's for sure.

  8. My "short" week consists of only five work days. However, after Friday, I'm off for 9 days.

    Just finished a grocery list.
Why is I can't ever limit it to just the essentials?

I've never seen such brutal abuse of the semicolon. Don't they know it's an endangered species?!

Really productive evening. Got another shelf thing for my dining room and loaded it up with my canning gear, small appliances, and stowed our Perrier on the bottom shelf. Living in an apartment requires organization.

Don't you know that using the semicolon instead of the colon saves toner?

The above joke is courtesey of Scott Adams.

A buddy brought me some deer chili yesterday. It was awesome for lunch.
Now to don puppy dog eyes and try for some backstrap...

This combines a picture from April 2004 (the tracks) with one from today. This was what I was picturing 10 years ago when I took the first picture.

I was going to make a lame origami joke, but I changed my mind.
