    I saw BB play many times over the years. He always projected a sense of respect for his audience that most artists do not.
    No false modesty, he knew he was good, just an appreciation that you've paid good money and gave up an evening to see him play.

    I'm going from memory here, so this probably isn't totally accurate.

    One of the modern (at the time) guitar slingers, perhaps it was Stevie Ray Vaughn, described a jam session featuring several blues guitarists who took turns soloing. He said King took his solo, played only three notes, and left everybody on the floor.

    King's playing--he knew when not to play--reminds me of a quote from Dizzy Gillespie, "It took me years to understand that the spaces between the notes were just important as the notes."

    Lawyer says allegations B.B. King was poisoned 'ridiculous' - Yahoo News

    What a mess. It seems from various articles that I've read that there has been a longtime feud between his business manager of almost 40 years and his two daughters, who it appears he wasn't terribly close to. Now that he's gone, and his daughters disagree with his wishes as published in his will, they are going after the manager.

    I hate stuff like this, because it is so hard as an outsider to tell who to believe.
