I'm hoping this comes to PS4. I'm not even going to ask my aging PC if it wants to consider trying to run it.

I've put more hours into Sims 3 than I care to admit. It's...a substantial amount of time.

Fun story: when the original Sims came out, we bought it, along with a couple expansions. I got up when my then-husband was getting ready for work one day, and started playing. He came home later, and I said something like, "oh, hey. You haven't come home for lunch in a while!" ......it was not lunch. He was off work. It was 6 pm, and I'd been completely engrossed all day. heh.

This happened to Magpie more than once. She stopped playing because she said it eats up too much of her time.

I never got the appeal, personally.

In a lot of ways Homeworld 2 was a step backwards from Cataclysm.

For me, it's designing houses. And people. I'd spend an hour creating a character, then another hour or two building and decorating their house. Then I'd actually play for about ten minutes and decide to create someone/something new.

I did have fun playing the World Adventures expansion. You could do quests for Visa points.

I did the same thing. Just played the game to design a house, then moved on. :p

I fired up Minecraft today for the first time in ages. Dunno why; just got the itch I suppose.

There's this really deep canyon right near my spawn point that I'm itching to go explore, despite the fact that I know from experience that all that's to be found within is certain death. I'm currently stockpiling ladders and torches so I can go meet my inevitable demise.

I've also added in some XCOM. I still prefer the original. Can't beat that XCOM Classic taste.

Been playing Cities: Skylines here lately. Something about designing and laying out towns that calms my nerves.

WarCraft III has become my go-to "I need to kill some time" game. Night Elves, represent. Also broke out Majesty: The Northern Expansion.

for those who enjoy deck building games... star realms.

Star Realms | Star Realms Deckbuilding Game

its cross platform from phone to steam, there isn't collecting and individual card value baked in at all (it sells xpacs similar to talisman), its a really slick interface, and it's under 20 bucks for the game and all its xpacs atm

I'm not playing anything currently, but the last game I played was Medusa's Labyrinth (FTP on Steam), a pleasingly atmospheric horror game with a Hellenistic theme.

This is a very good description on the The Talos Principle. To elaborate, its pensive narrative concerns the metaphysical philosophies of functionalism and the computational theory of mind, and the Milton Library Assistant presents a very grounded, rational argument for the personhood of strong AI.

I just started playing Skyrim. I was getting bored with the other games that I've got installed and was looking for something new to stave off the temptation to buy Fallout 4. I had Skyrim from a sale in December, so I went for it.

First thoughts: I love when a game auto detects your system capability and goes "Ultra High Quality approved!" I'm like, "Yes, that $4K was well spent!"
Second thoughts: I'm not finding the game as intuitive as I would like, I actually had to exit the game to figure out how to shoot arrows. I can't seem to figure out how to group my weapons and map them to quick keys, so they're more readily available in combat. I keep having to click Q to bring up the favourites menu and then make the switch from bow to sword.

The game is beautiful to look at and once I have the controls figured out, it should make for some good RPG action. I'm just not as overwhelmed as I thought I would be.

And in other news, where the fuck is Dishonored 2????

    <3 Skyrim.

Lately, I've been alternating between Civ 5 and Cities: Skylines. It amazes me how far deep one can go in the latter game.

I'm going out on a limb and say that this bone floating in mid-air is a glitch.

Ooh, I want to play Skyrim now. I *think* all the XBox stuff got unpacked...

Don't Starve: Shipwrecked is out of beta, so I've been playing it the last few days. Unlocked a new character who surfs and is voiced by a ukulele. Rad.

The game is glitchy, though most of the glitches are fairly harmless.
