It would be cooler if I lit it up better for the pics, but you get the idea.

Any Star Wars fan can see that it covers basically every main scene in the movie. Where Leia was in the cell, where Obi Wan turned the power off, the conference room, trash compactor, giant laser beam, flight deck, where Luke and Leia swing across after the platforms were retracted, droid torture chamber, etc.

The trash compactor walls really crush shut, there are controls to move the laser beam, the guns, elevator that cranks up and down, etc.

    Huge project.

Starting in on this one tonight while watching the NBA Playoffs (note the minifigure in the bottom right to help you see the scale of this thing):

Was actually a very easy build for the size. A good first 'big' set for someone intimidated by the 1500+ pc stuff.

    pWf Getting Tilted

The best times I remember is building Lego's with my kids. When I moved recently I was going to sell them but my gf talked me out of it. I see now that Lego has all the set instructions online. VERY COOL! I am thinking for Christmas next year to get one of the very big sets to put together with the kids. When I get my legos cleared out I will have to show a picture of my collection. :) I to have many of the Star Wars sets as well as EVERY Harry Potter from the first 4/5 films.

Great thread, Borla... had no idea you were a huge Lego nerd.

I too am a huge Lego nerd but I'm a more low profile one.

I use Lego Digital Designer to build my models today.

Just amazing @Borla, I went through all the pics really great. Do you keep them all? Donate or gift them to children at that hospital your involved with?

Pretty sure I still have all the ones that I've posted in this thread. Many of them are still together in my home office. Others were carefully disassembled, put back in the boxes, and are stored in my basement.

Most LEGO sets appreciate in value once they are discontinued, especially the Star Wars ones. Sometimes they end up worth several times what they cost in the store (and some are $300-400 new), usually at least double what they cost new. So, at some point, I'll probably sell the discontinued ones and use the funds towards some random major "fun" purchase. The last time I did a mass sell-off of LEGO sets I used the funds to buy Stanley.

It lets me view all these sets as "free", since I know that one day I'll probably sell them and make money on them one day. I've NEVER sold a set for less than what I paid for it new, and usually at least get 150-200% of what I paid new.

Haha, no! :p But I thought it was pretty cool to have all four Beatles as Lego mini figures.
