Favorite "Old" TV Show(s)

The Young Ones. I have only watched a few episodes but holy shit, that show.

 

I've been watching Cheers on Netflix. I remember watching it as a kid. My parents didn't censor anything I watched. It's not as great as I remembered it.

Over the top sexist. Diane is still as annoying as I remembered, but Becky isn't as cool as I remembered. I thought she was super amazing. Not really.

Carla is still awesome. Norm and Cliff still crack me up.

 

We get many of the old TV shows from my youth on free antenna TV: Barney Miller, Night Court, Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue, Magnum, etc. I frequently ask myself Why, exactly, did I like this show the first time around?

There are a few exceptions. One of the channels has brought Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) & Zena (Lucy Lawless) back into the rotation. They were, and still are, bad enough to be amusing.

Clarification: Barney Miller still holds up as a funny show worth watching.

Don't get me started on the number of crappy old shows my wife likes. One of her current faves Renegade. I know why she watches it and she admits it, and yes Lorenzo Lamas was hot. And we can't forget Tarzan with Johnny Weismuller (I now realise why my older sisters used to watch it faithfully ).

 

Maybe not favorit but I have been watching the original Wonder Woman lately. It's very entertaining.

 

By Hercules, I thought you meant the cartoon, with Newton the centaur (Hey Herc!) that show was drinking game worthy.

That opening credit showcases the sun rising over a sparse Toronto skyline (a cluster of office towers, the solitary CN Tower beside the Skydome) that would be unrecognizable these days. The CN Tower is all but hidden by a forest of high rises now.

 

The ending for FK PISSED me off SOOOOOOOOO much. GRRRRRR!!!!
