I mentioned this in the 2016 Election thread. Since the election is over--unless something really interesting/incriminating comes to light--now seems to be a good time start this thread.

It should be interesting to see what actions DT takes and when, even before he's sworn in. If he's smart he'll starting organizing his presidential team and his plans for his main goals before he's sworn in.

Trump can't afford to worry about POTUS stuff now. He's got a fraud trial to (not) prep for.

    Seriously, what the fuck America?

Republicans don't like him. They'd rather have his VP take over.

Mike Pence is all the same misogyny and bigotry of Trump but in a more likeable package. He most definitely would not be a trade up.

Though he's less likely to deploy nuclear weapons against people who insult him so that's something I guess.

I'm not really expecting anything much to come of either of Trump's upcoming trials, but one can dream I guess.

I'm really not going to speculate until I actually see action...

No one knows what he's going to do...and really neither does he. (good or bad...he was a Dem for a long time...and certainly not a strict moralist)
And you don't know what the GOP majority Congress will support and allow. (or push back on)
Much less the Dems, who have increased their number (GOP lost a few still...and the filibuster still is enacted)
AND even more so, the judges (they can nix a lot)
AND finally the underlying bureaucracy, which is territorial and resistant.

I'll believe it when I see it.
    Good or bad.

Living under an ancient curse..."May you live in Interesting Times"
And it's going to get interesting.
    We'll see.

I hope the left wing gives Trump the same treatment they gave Obama for 8 years. Call for him to be a one term President, make up lies about him and repeat them over and over, get his tax returns to see how he is scamming the people...

I suspect there is enough baggage in Donald's past to make Hillary look like a nun. I'd prefer liberals stick to the truth. You know, facts, honesty, and all.

If Wikileaks published Donald's tax returns I'd find it rather amusing.

My computer is acting up, I hope this posts correctly. Edit--I'll try again.

Myron Ebell certainly sounds like the type of person Trump, and Republicans in general, want.

    And I'll try yet again.

Unfortunately I don't see impeachment happening, unless Trump is actually tried and convicted. And I can see Trump throwing people under buses while claiming "I didn't know" to avoid being convicted.

    We are so fucked.

Bad enough that he's considering a climate change denier for EPA head, and a Young Earth Creationist for Secretary of Education (Ben Carson), but he appointed that fucknugget Bannon to be his chief advisor-- the dude is a neo-Nazi conspiracy theorist!

It's like the motto of his transition is "Lest You Think I Was Kidding About Fuck The Muslims And The Latinos And The Black People-- I Wasn't, And While We're On The Subject, Fuck The Jews, Too."

Trump's enlisting of the counsel of an influential white nationalist is his laying his neofascist cards on the table. He's unabashed about it.

Of course, we'll also have to deal with the frustrations of the alt-right rhetoric that would describe it as "the inconvenient truth" to the "whiny regressive left."

To be clear, he's a successful neo-Nazi conspiracy theorist. His Breitbart empire is becoming more popular than Fox News.

Between January 2015 and June 2016, there were 1,084 “In the News” posts made to DonaldJTrump[dot]com. The most common sources copied-and-pasted to Trump’s website were Breitbart (121 posts), Fox (79 posts), and CNN (76 posts).

Glen Beck has said Bannon is a problem because he's too right wing, I understand.

I'm wondering how much of that is sour grapes, and how much positioning himself to be able later to rail against Trump letting down his voters by going too far from the hard right, into the alt right?

I've heard "white supremacist" "neonazi" and "alt right" so fucking much, and been called all of them so much, that they no longer have any meaning and I simply refuse to believe them until someone openly and explicitly self-identifies as one. It's just too much. The regressive left has called literally every single person they don't like an alt-right white supremacist misogynist neonazi MRA pissbaby shitlord fuckboy neckbeard and it's just meaningless now.

Especially since the same people calling someone a neonazi for not liking Hillary is, invariably, someone who actually is an anti-semite and does want to ethnically cleanse the Jews.
