I was watching Divergent: Insurgent this evening and I wanted to look up when I read the book. Apparently I read it last year in the summer. I read it just before or after the movie came out but definitely before I watched it. Anyways, social media platforms being what they are showed me friends who read the same book.

Maleficent had read it. I looked at her reading list, her review of the book was pretty funny in that Mal way.

Anyways, she has 4 books on her reading now list.

I'd like to honor her by reading those books. I've read 1 of the 4, but I'd be willing to re-read if as part of this exercise. I hope you would be willing to do so also.

So, the mission, if you choose to accept it is to read these 4 books in 2017. If we can surpass that, great. Let's complete reading the books for her.

    First book is:
Amazon.com: Dark Places: A Novel (9780307341563): Gillian Flynn: Books

If you buy it via the link above TheTFP will get a very small percentage of the sale. You are welcome to buy it from Amazon, get it from the library, used bookstore or ask me how you can get a used ebook of it for cheap. I don't care, but let's read some books.

    The rest of the list...

The Girl on the Train: Paula Hawkins: 9780857523921: Amazon.com: Books

    Winter's Tale: Mark Helprin: 9780156031196: Amazon.com: Books

Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead: Brené Brown: 9781592407330: Amazon.com: Books

I'll second What else is on the list?.

I was not positively impressed by Flynn's Gone Girl. But I know from reading many John Irving novels one crap book doesn't make a crap author.

I've updated the OP to show the rest of the list. This is what was on her currently reading list. There are 4 other books on the to read list. Let's get through these first and then move onto the next list.

I've read the first two, so I'll find the last two in the next week or so. I'm not the biggest fan of Brene Brown, but I'll do it for Mal.
