I guess something is better than nothing...especially considering his little time left...for the "punishment" on the Russians.
    But IMHO...too little, too late.

We're giving a glove slap in exchange for his hijacking by gun, identity theft and punch to the gut.
Basically, Putin's getting away with a hell of a lot.

That's been one of the few frustrations of mine for Obama.
He's too much of a slow burn...being overly fair. (he acts appropriately and strong...but it's often a LONG buildup...after a lot of damage has been done)
You don't have to have a 3 strikes out rule if someone is obviously sucker punching you. (Russia, GOP, etc...)

An interesting article from a conservative columnist...
about the respect he has for Obama (for class, not policy)
    http://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/02/o...-region&WT.nav=opinion-c-col-left-region&_r=1

Personally, I'm considering on going to a Jan 19th "Thanks Obama" gathering at the White House.

He did his damnedest and worked the job hard (wasn't perfect though...) helped to save our ass after getting a mess...and cleaned it up. (says this GDI...)

I gotta do something, a small gesture, before the chaos starts (IMHO)

Thanks for sharing this! White House photographer Pete Souza has borne witness to many intimate moments over this administration. I've really loved his "view" coupled with his commentary framing his captures.

Ok, a geek going geek about a geek
Obama geeks out in final stretch of presidency

A followup...But this is still cool to me.
Because I've never seen a president do it. (maybe I could see Clinton or Bush Sr. do it, but they didn't)

I wonder what he's going to do?
I could see him going for governor of California... (they just bought a house there...and it is a HUGE state with tons of money & influence)
He couldn't go to the Supreme Court until the Dems get control.

    What do you think???
    Anything is possible.

I need to wait a bit to listen to his exit stuff. It really is hard right now.
Maybe after Jerry Brown retires again Obama could be governor but that would be unprecedented. Obama has been by the books and if he did so post-presidency, he'd be deviating. That said, what I would like to see is him being more authentic, to quit playing it safe.
The Obamas must have invested well during the presidency because they bought three houses!
I'm a huge fan of this couple, they still have many years to do great things. I cannot imagine them not being involved in bettering their community so I hope they land in California. Ultimately, it is where I'd like to be, too.

    Actually, Obama does unprecedented well.
Just being the first black president starts the long list... :)
    "The Audacity of Hope" y'know

Much unlike our incoming POTUS, who is "unpresidented" to use his own words.

Obama did make $415,000 (or whatever it is) for 8 years, and most of his expenses were covered. I bet he would be allowed to invest in an index fund to the Dow or Nasdaq, both of which have more than doubled. He also has written some books.

I think Gavin Newsom is more likely to become California's Governor. And I'm sure Obama is going to take a few years off from politics. I think Michelle Obama might run for senator of Illinois at some point if I would guess.

Yeah...and how much do you think he'll get for speeches???
It will put everyone else's (including Hillary's) to shame.
    Then again
He's a damned good speaker, leaving on good terms and most like what he speaks about. (intelligent, wise, ethical, humorous, entertaining, inspiring, etc...)

    I forgot about Newsom.
Well, from what I understand he's going to "fixing" the Dems...whatever that means.

Michelle Obama will never run for political office. She detests politics.

Obama, basically, can write his own ticket.
It was not his desire to ascend to the presidency when he did; he was drafted, early. I hope he and Michelle take some time to themselves, then come back and live fully to their post-presidential potential.

From my point of view, he made a lot of people feel safe and he inspired hope, not just for the U.S. but for the world. I will miss him, and I'm not even an American.

He's a natural. Easily the best speaker since Reagan. Puts both Clintons to shame. I hope he will put his earnings to good use in his community organizer tradition. Instead of massively "nest feathering" ala' Bill and Hill.

Actually, that sounds what he's going to do...except he's going to do it on the national/global scale...nation first, reorg'ing the Dems. (except, he's going to have issues getting them to have spines...he's not the most aggressive guy)
