What's your favorite museum I haven't heard of?

The International Women's Air & Space Museum.

It is housed in the generally private airport in Cleveland, OH - Burke. It is free. Super small, you really only need a half hour to see the whole thing. But what great items they have.

If you have a daughter under 12, and the two of you are ever in the area, it is a must stop.

I don't have a daughter and I'm still interested. I've never heard of this. When I lived in Boston I used to drive right thru (or around) Cleveland several times a year. Now I haven't been in that area for four or five years.

I was reading an article, The Founding Fathers Encrypted Secret Messages, Too , and that led me to the National Cryptologic Museum, the nation's first and only public museum in the Intelligence Community

It is now on my "go to"list sometime soon.

Not an unknown museum but a new exhibit at the Hirshhorn opens today - Chinese dissident artist/activist Ai WeiWei

I might check it out this weekend.

There is a new Yoko Ono exhibit as well, not that this would be high on my "must see" list.

The Museum of Osteology in Moore, OK is one of two worldwide of its kind. It's really quite neat if you're into skeletons/bones or comparative anatomy. I've been twice and love it. There was a similar museum I happened to run into in London, The Grant Museum of Zoology.

Some of these sound interesting, others....wtf? but I would still probably visit if in the neighborhood.

Don't get us wrong: We love museums devoted to art, history, and science as much as the next person (and maybe more than the next person). But sometimes, our curiosity demands quirkier territory. Here are our favorite institutions devoted to the stranger things in life.
