Two versions of one of my favorite songs.

"I'm wasted, and I can't find my home" hits me on several levels.

    The man himself, solo acoustic...

A cover that doesn't have the same edge, but Alison Krauss has a great voice. Kudos to the guitarist--as well the entire band--most likely Union Station.

An old English folk song. Many believe it was originally played faster, even jovially, perhaps as an early drinking song.

This was written by Carole King.

Early in her career Carole King was an underpaid and unknown (to the casual listener) songwriter.

Along with Neil Diamond (who is totally meh as a singer & a performer, IMO), which leads to this question:

Without looking it up, can you name Neil Diamond's top earning--by a very wide margin over his other songs--song?

I am stuck on Depeche Mode's new album.
It's like the captured my mood about the political mood and laid it down in brilliant tracks.
Needless to say the album is pretty damned dark but beautifully dense.
It also sounds so much deeper on vinyl if you can get it.
