    Lilo and Stitch.

Beautiful message, gorgeous animation, and fun besides.

Having two daughters and because of when it came out Lilo and Stitch is really perfect.

I have to say though if you want a really dark and kind of disturbing, watch The Rescuers.
For an Disney villain, someone who stuffs orphans in caves that are filling up with water, Madame Medusa is evil.

I grew up on the Disney classics, so I love all of those. And I like the new ones, too. (One of my cousins has two girls who are obsessed with Frozen. I scored some MAJOR cool points singing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" to them.)

Sleeping Beauty has always been my favorite. I wore out the VHS tape. I just realized I don't have that one on DVD, and I need to change that.

    Non-Disney, I also adore Anastasia.

    Inside Out totally got me.

I'm a sucker for An American Tail, though.

No kids, no grandkids, not close to my great great nieces & nephews......I honestly can't recall the last children's animated movie that caught my eye.

I do like nearly all of the done-by-actual-humans/pre-CGI Disney films.

It's a tough toss-up between The Fox and a Hound and The Secret of NIMH, but I think TSoN edges TFH out.
Pete's Dragon will always hold a special place in my heart because it's the first movie I remember seeing at the theater, but it's not my favorite.
Of the newer stuff, I really like The Croods, Monsters & Aliens, The Incredibles and Megamind.

    Almost forgot about these......

MW uses Animusic I & II as teaching tools. They're totally cool!

I was going to back away and not post anything, because I don't think I like kids animation...

But then I saw The Secret of NIHM. It reminded me of how much I liked that film when I was younger (mostly because I had read the book long before).

I am sure there are others...

Ahh yes, I remember reading Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH many years later after watching the first movie and its sequels.
I liked it but it didn't catch me up like the movie did.
    Kinda like Dune that way.

Probably not a 'kids' movie though I saw it as a kid.

    Up.
It has Ed Asner, who both resembles and sounds like my dad, and a talking dog. Beautiful film.
