This is Maple Lake in the Haliburton Highlands in Ontario, Canada.
I am simply in love with the sky--especially there.
I've been spending part-to-all of my summers, all my life, on this lake. A great deal of my time on the lake is spent looking out and up.

Meanwhile, just a couple of Great Lakes west: Flying in over Lake Michigan over the north side of Chicago. Quite a few landmarks are visible when you enlarge.[IMG]

Taken 8 years ago on the University of Idaho campus. This is technically a "repost" but my former gallery materal is not online now and the buried link on the old board might be dead for all I know.
I am fairly certain the rock climbing thing is in this building but I could be wrong.

Fangirl.....I wasn't in a plane.....we were way up in the mountains here above the cloud line

Quad in refers to us riding 4 wheeled bikes......called quads, and sorry,no more reflection shots....

and the double rainbow shot is actually a part of the panoramic too.....and I found no gold, nor was my luck any better

    thanks for the interest

Ooh of course, the majestic mountains of B.C.

Again, if I'd thought about it...I still wouldn't have guessed, most likely.

    The pleasure is mine. :)

[IMG]You can't get more of the sky than that. Living in the city, you forget that this is what the sky is supposed to look like.

Not my best shot, but quickly taken in the middle of nowhere (zero lights anywhere on the horizon, the light glow on the horizon is from a city 2.5 hours away.)

    Canon 5D m2, 180 degree fisheye lens f/2.8, 120 sec(too long), 800 ISO (too high)
I really need a way to take multiple 5-10 second images and stack them...while having it be ok that some stars are moving faster than others over that time frame.

I live in the light-polluted suburbs and am painfully aware of what is being blotted out. I had to just reframe in my mind that 'this' is what I live with and a permutation of what you've shared is what I get to spend a few weeks a year with in south central Ontario (just south of the Algonquin forest). Otherwise, it is just too damn depressing!

It may not be your 'best' shot but it is still beautiful.

    Last month,
the electric-blueish moonbeams crept across my bed towards my pillow and woke me up.

I have a south facing window and every august I have the same thing happen to me. It's crazy how the light has that bluish cast to it.
