I read this as "Of course, Eden. I would love screen shots of the video". I'll post them here soon.

@ZombieSquirrel You know, instead of linking a video, I took some shirtless pics just for you.

I have to say, I've never shaved my chest. Or my beautiful amber colored pubes.

I'm suddenly feeling light-headed, and it's not because of the talk of shaving chests...

In our DnD game tonight...we actually had a character die.

But they played it all wrong, just hard charged it in...into a fully dark room.
Grouped themselves together against a wall.
Didn't give me a chance to light up the room. (playing a cleric with a Light cantrip)

I was able to take it down from a distance with a decent spell
but not before it took down 2 characters with its 2 serpent heads and poison (the ranger fully gone...nothing I can do for him, I'm only 2nd level...and I had already healed him twice)

Guess he'll be focusing on his 2nd character now.

Lesson: charging in only gets you slaughtered.

Make sure you can see...take the flank.

There is a chance that he's trying to get killed...rather than just bow out gracefully.

Two of you nifty people here at TFP (that I know of) play D&D, makes me wistful for the past. :) We played Vampire the Masquerade and Werewolf (both from White Wolf i think), but also Shadowrun and AD&D. Still have at least one of my dungeoneer's guides. Does sound like he pulled a Leroy Jenkins sort of move though. Do you all make multiple characters ahead of time in case of accidental death?

We had multiple characters already...one primary, one an assistant. (or 2nd sons of nobles and their cousins) ...for this campaign.
It's just that this guy is only going to play the cousin now. (the DM warned us to be careful and smart before and many times)

Actually I ran one on the TFP a looooooong time ago (2004??), based it off of the Ravenloft series.
It was cool, because it wasn't about the mechanics or dice...but the situations, the character and the banter. Each board-member responsible for their post....and reacting to the others.
I still have copies somewhere of the play....great drama.

The TFP has has quite a few off the cuff RPGs over the years, someone makes up a scenario....and others just jump in, posting their actions. (doesn't have to be fantasy either...I think they had a bar scene once)

Those were pretty fun and damned creative even if they took forever to play.

With roll20.net you can basically play with anyone around the world. It's awesome.

I play every saturday [5e], right now and it's the highlight of my week. I play an Errol Flynn style swashbuckler and after a humiliating defeat (not to the death) one on one in the Fighting Pits, we retooled my character for more damage. I was 3 Bard (college of swords [Kits of Old Unearthed Arcana). 4 Rogue (swashbuckler [Sword Coast Adv. Guide]) and 5 Fighter (Battle Master). I could do a lot of things, but many skills overlapped and were useless. I ended up dropping the Bard levels, dropping 3 into Rogue, changing from Battle Master to Champion (19-20 crit range) and taking better feats. Fought some low level chimeras and did a good amount of damage. I can slip in and out of combat (if I attack something, they don't get an attack of opportunity on me if I move away from them without using disengage) and I'm sitting at 23 AC in combat that can be bumped up to 27 as a reaction. Plus everything has disadvantage against hitting me.

I like when my DM lets me fix things like this mid game.

As for dead characters. I was playing a dwarf cleric that was hotheaded and arrogant af. He started a race riot and then pissed off one of the most powerful Gods in the realm. Then tried to get his God to come in and that God got their ass handed to them. I then threw my character down and begged for mercy for my friends. I sacrificed my soul to save the group. Then I switched to my fighter.

THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING TO SPARTAN FACTS!

Did you know? In addition to their reputation as fine warriors, the Spartans were also known for the brevity and directness of their speech. Shortly before Philip of Macedon (Alexander’s father) invaded Laconia, he wrote a letter to the Spartans saying, “If I invade Laconia, I will drive you out.” The Spartans wrote a one-word letter back to Philip saying, “If.” (Plutarch, On Talkativeness: 511a).

If you're interested, here's a YT channel that deals with rpg's and tabletop games and even has clips for becoming a better DM.

    Geek & Sundry

Also, here's a clip of Vin Diesel playing D&D with the DM from the channel and some voice actor friends.

Love these, but they take forever to watch/listen
I'd rather just play, than watch play.

I haven't played AD&D since I was 15 so I dug every second of it! :D Totally understand though if you have people to play with that would be more engaging than watching/listening to others. :)
