That link was for a completely different manufacturer that offers their customers a service. Those shoes are not the same.

But digging about the SAS FAQ

Anybody here worn Ecco, and can compare them with the SAS above?
I get 8-10 years from a pair of Ecco's, and it just so happens I have to replace a worn out pair in the next few months.
    Thanks.

Not me. Never heard of them. But I'm going to look into them now.

I happen to be wearing my eccos right now. I have had them since probably 2010. They aren't super stylish, but they are very comfortable. And they aren't terrible looking. They aren't Rockports.

I bought new black dress shoes a few months ago and ended up with a pair of Eccos. The other pairs in the shop were considerably cheaper and they felt like it. They are actually quite comfortable to wear and still look good.

Yes, I was reading about that one the other day. Radiation beats up electronics pretty badly.

Things that don't wear out? I'm 61 and I own firearms that are older than me! Oh, and there's the anvil in my shop. Made sometime in the late 1800s and, well, still works fine. (The advantage of no moving parts, I guess.)

As an admitted laptop snob and anti-Apple bigot, I just bought myself a refurbished 2015 MacBook Pro after using the 2017 version for work. It's a really nice piece of hardware and the Retina display is amazing. iTunes can still kiss my butt; but the laptop is the nicest I've ever used.

I just bought a new pair of LL Bean boots.
The classic ones with the rubber soles.
My current pair are over 20 years old. I wore the heels almost to the ground.
    I'd say I got my money's worth.

    These be they:

    Men's Bean Boots by L.L.Bean®, 8

Of course now they come in different varieties but this is the basic model that's been around forever.
Great for moderate snowfalls, and especially slushy wet stuff.

I have several pieces of vintage (1940s) Revere Ware copper bottom pots and pans. Mine don't look as nice as this pic from ebay, because mine get used.

I wear western (cowboy) boots and I've found Dingo brand have held up very well the pair I wear as my everyday boot are like 10 yrs old and I'm going to get them re-soled as they are just now showing wear on one boot.

I have to give a strong endorsement to Optima "Red Top" car batteries. Mine failed this past week and in checkin the maintenance records from the previous owner. ( absolutely complete records came with my 2006 Accord EX/L when I bought it in December of 2014 with 75,xxx miles) The original replaced the OEM Honda battery in November of 2009!!!~ Car now has 108,xxx miles and has been pretty much trouble free.

Ten and a half years is great for a car battery.

I replaced it with an EverStart Maxx from Walmart, which has a 3-year replacement warranty. Should last long enough for me.

Interstate batteries used to (still do?) have a great reputation, which hopefully is justified since their batteries cost nearly twice the premium batteries from the auto parts stores.

I decided, a bit reluctantly, to have a very expensive Toyota "full lifetime, no pro-rating, warranty" battery installed. I figure the battery probably isn't that superior, it's just Toyota's willing to drop in a new one when necessary. I'll know in a few years???

My Dingo western boots are 25 years old and been resoled only once. Yeah they aren’t pretty but they sure are comfortable and I still get compliments on them. My Harley Davidson motorcycle is 22 years old and with just basic maintenance it has run flawlessly and never left me on a roadside. My Old Craftsman tools are pretty rock solid but you can’t get the same quality from Sears anymore. My Sony Flat screen is 12 years old and works flawlessly. My Brand Lazyboy leather recliner I bought in 1999 still looks and works great and believe me it gets a great deal of use.
