I was thinking starting a recipe thread specifically for EPC users. Might do so even if it's just me posting.

YEAH, we need "input" on PRESSURE COOKERS.
There was an article from the Chicago Tribune in today's paper
Seems these are not like grama's old explosive device....ask me how I know...
We were "gifted" one of the newer ones a while back and haven't tried it yet.

I have a pressure cooker, though it's the "on the stove" variety. No special recipes; but it does a nice job of overcoming the effects of altitude. Water boils at 196° F at my house. Makes some thing difficult to impossible to cook.

I want one, but I think I'm going to have to wait until after we get the robot vacuum.

You underestimate how much I value having a clean home but hate vacuuming. Plus, I own a large Dutch oven and numerous kitchen gadgets. The instant pot is definitely a want and not a need.

I now have an Instant Pot.

    I love it.

I still love my crockpot because it does it differently where the flavors deepen.

But the 1-hour soft tender stew meat??? Yeah, I'll take that any day.

Our Crock Pot has been pretty much retired since we got the Instant Pot. The IP can be used as a CP, but the CP can't be used as an IP, so the IP stays out on the counter. And my wife has always enjoyed using a pressure cooker (we have wound up with three stove top ones).
