    THIS
    We’re With Stupid

We need to look at ourselves in the mirror...
    We allow this
    We vote them in
We are the ignorant ( in whole...)
    We are the neglectful

You want quality? You want what you desire in politics and government?
    Let the BUYER beware.
    It's OUR responsibility...
    To be aware
    To ask the questions
    To know the direction
    To call on the BS
We let others do the work, do the investigation...then are shocked when the aren't up to snuff.

    Know your wares.
    Know your politics.
    Use your friggin' brains
    Vote

The thing I have a problem with is how unprepared both parties were to this happening, especially the Democrats. And it doesn't matter if it was or wasn't "the Russians". It was also the brainwashed conservatives who would repeat the zombie lies that had been debunked and proven wrong, but were repeated over and over. I think it did influence the tone of the Internet on forums and social media, and if your friends are supporting an issue, you are either not going to rock the boat by saying anything or agree with them.

Maybe one of those lesbian artists could design a real LGBT holiday cup for Starbucks... Make this one look tame when compared to it.

Muslims Are Often the First Victims of Muslim Terrorists

People often forget this in their ignorance or paranoia.
Terrorists are EXTREME and radical maniacs who use religion as their catalyst
But anything is their target to gain attention, including those closest to home.

Which is why MOST people of the same religion, want them caught and killed as much, if not more than those outside of it or in other countries.
    Death is death.

I haven't processed it yet. It wasn't something I ever thought would have happened. Why would they do this? Are the executives at Aetna just looking to cash out and retire? Are they trying to get lower drug prices? Does CVS have some patient information that would help Aetna price their policies higher?

I think the "cash out" portion is the key.

We have let go of most anti-monopoly discretion since the late 90's
Pretty much almost any purchase goes.

I don't mind the backwood square-dance orgy that goes on Wall Street everyday.
But there are some that truly are a conflict with how an industry work AND conflict of interest.

Now CVS will be biased and push Aetna...and even more important Aetna will push CVS.
    There will be NO competition.
That IS the definition of monopoly.

And that goes against my capitalist heart.

Maybe it will push Walgreens to buy Kaiser or United Health?

That’s even worse, then you’ll have all major pharmacies to by a major insurance

What happens to the multitude of smaller pharmacies and insurance companies???

They can’t afford it AND it wouldn’t sync per state nationally

    It would be a mess

    Why every vote counts!

First time women candidates led the Democrat sweep, unseating 13 male incumbents.

Might it be a harbinger of things to come in 2018?

Followup...again, this is happening all over the world...the US is just playing catchup.
Kremlin trolls burned across the Internet as Washington debated options

We're lingering, distracted and debating...and Russian rats are nibbling at the foundation...infestation everywhere.
You don't need a few mousetraps...you need a full on exterminator.
    It's not a conspiracy, it's a reality.

Even if you didn't have the Russian trolls, there are still thousands of American trolls who took over the Internet comment sections and some forums by posting comments, articles, and topics from right-wing sources.

And the DNC and the left wing groups have decided not to do anything, maybe because they had no plan for how to deal with social media. They preferred and expected people to live in the big cities and could travel to meetings in person. They didn't help people who lived outside of the cities who supported the Democrats do anything. Something like helping change the on-line culture and direction of the conversation, and defending the policies and educating the population on why it would work...

Was 2017 the Craziest Year in U.S. Political History?

    Interesting comparison...
And this is just the US...other countries have suffered their own insanity.

Do I think it as crazy as Civil War times?? WWI? WWII?? The Great Depression? and so on... No.
BUT...once you factor in the specter of nukes.
The small insane spark is the potential light to dynamite.

Other than that, I'm just sad about the waste, distraction and pain.
    We could do better.

    SSDD :(:mad::confused::eek::oops::rolleyes:

Perspective | What did the men with Donald Trump do when he spoke of ‘shithole countries’?

Now this is not about Trump...well, his actions are a sample here.

The big question is how OTHERS react to bad actions???
    Are we not responding?
    Are we ignoring?
    Are we allowing this?

Are YOU allowing this to go by when this happens in your life???

We should take others in account WHEN the event happens.
How can we call ourselves civilized otherwise?

Now this is not the first time we've had bad actors...nor will it be the last.
    Seems to come in waves.

Question is how we address those surges of ugly.

Integrity goes both ways...the actor and the audience.

I think the bigger issue is the way the right wing trolls on-line covered for him. By either saying "at least he is willing to speak the truth." Or deflecting and saying that the Clinton Foundation and many other charities have wasted a lot of money with little to show for it in these places. There are plenty of memes that popped up a day later. And I feel that they "won" this issue and did a better job at convincing poor white voters who only see the worst of those countries when they make the news.

And I'm surprised that Sen. Durbin didn't have a secret recording device on him though.

    A women's wave?

‘I want my voice heard’: Women plot runs for office in record numbers

I think this is a very positive development for the Democratic Party and an even greater development for the country anytime such a large number of "outsiders" are energized to run for high political office.
