And it's the entire concerts, so you get to hear Hugh Cherry's announcements, Carl Perkins, and the Statler Brothers opening for him as well as Johnny talking to the cons.
This is the box set so it's both times he went, as well as some studio stuff that isn't as interesting.

A bit off topic, but any fans of Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, or Elvis might want to check out ‘The Million Dollar Quartet’ if it plays in your area. It’s a pretty decent show.

Kewl! Is that the set that includes the rehearsals?

Related, sort of: I'd love to have the box set for The Last Waltz that includes everything, esp. the raw performance recordings. I wonder if the complete raw film still exists? Chances are it wasn't copied before being edited.

Yep, cost a cool $85.00 but was worth it.
    There were only 2500 pressed.
The box set includes both full concerts, including performances by June Carter, Carl Perkins and The Statler Brothers.
The numbered deluxe package, features individually designed LP jackets packaged in a deluxe hardshell slipcase with an eight page, 12" x 12" booklet, and also includes a bonus 12" single featuring previously unreleased audio of Cash and friends rehearsing at the El Rancho Motel in Sacramento, CA the night before the concerts.

    Yes.

But the thrifter in me loves the fact that we could easily sell it for 3x, possibly 4x, what I paid. Or even get 2x trade-in at a specialty music store.

Bras....Have you ever tried Lane Bryant? A lot people mistakenly think of LB as being only for larger women. From what I've seen they put a lot thought into women's.......bras. **wink, smile, laugh**

I've only looked on their website. Even if I filter out everything but 32DD they still show what is supposedly that size on models that look like they out-weigh me by at least 25 pounds. The Wacoals are very consistent. And are carried locally by Dillard's, where the lingerie manager is a "busty petite" herself and has developed a well developed;) clientele. I almost feel guilty when I order online.:(

Latest purchase(s), this was a 5 month project.
Daughter needed a new TV, wife wanted an upgrade. Bigger TV wasn't going to fit with old console (light can't be moved in a log home). Old speakers were dying.

So, 55" Sony OLED TV, Ascend Accoustics speakers, and a custom built, hickory cabinet (we needed very specific dimensions to make this work).

Tuners change pitch, but the strings vary in length (intonation) in order to hold tuning at the frets. An improperly intimated bridge will result in variation of pitch up, and down the fretboard. SCIENCE!!

Every guitar, and many stringed instruments are this way.

And that's why I get guitars from all over, for my world famous tuneup & setup. :) I specialize in Floyd Rose Tremolos.

Check out a LB store some time. Of course I could be wrong (my wife is busty and not petite). I've read that Wacoals make at least some of the Victoria's Secret bras, not sure if that's true.

I've never messed with Floyd or Kahler. The bridge and saddles that had me ready to smash the guitar didn't even have a trem. I installed them new on a telecopy, and couldn't get it right.

Makes me glad that I (mostly) play an instrument w/o frets. Intonation is governed, for better or worse, by where I put my fingers.:) I do have the afterlength set at 1/6 of the vibrating length. I don't know what the tuning of that is, but the D string has a damping weight on it to help control a wolf-tone. wolf-eliminator-544042-2.jpg

I'll check that out. I've walked right past their local mall outlet several times. I just assumed they wouldn't have anything for me.
I also have a petite and busty Korean friend who swears that Wacoal JDM (Japanese Domestic Market-also sold in Korea) bras are patterned differently than USA market bras.
Someone in the old TFP Ladies Lounge:( would probably have had something to say about that.

    kramus what I might see

I bought a YardWorks Oregon 16” electric chainsaw ($120 CDN) in order to make the impossible possible when it comes to turning dead trees into fireplace fodder. When coupled with my man-axe it seems to fill the bill exactly :)

*edit to add - I’ve left some assorted sizes of uncut tree bits so my Lady can take the chainsaw for a test drive - I’m good like that ;)

I have an admiration for classical stringed instruments and those who play them. From my perspective, frets govern pitch more firmly, while fingering the note requires an infallible sense of perfect pitch. Could your sound post dimensions/placement be a contributor to your wolf tone? Just a WAG; my knowledge of cellos, violins, etc. is incomplete.

    Thank you!

Frets sometimes govern too firmly. I had a friend with a Sigma brand 12-string that had 12th fret to saddle about 3mm shorter than nut to 12th fret. Didn't sound too bad in first position, but got worse the further up the fingerboard he went. And, unfortunately, you can't bend a guitar note down (like a wind player can.)

I don't have perfect pitch, but do have a good sense of relative pitch and intervals. Useful when tuning to a flat piano, or some A=415 baroque group. Which I wish I could do more group playing.

I've tried to lose that wolf with luthiers from Kansas City to Boston, to Chicago, to Lincoln. The consensus is that my bass's top is too thin in a couple of places.:( I need to have a weight on a spring slung on the inside. Wolf tone goes away pretty well with a 3oz. dollop of modeling clay stuck to the right spot. Clears everything up. But falls off at inconvenient times and makes my bass look like it has a tumor.
My luthier in Boston liked to say that violin making wasn't rocket science. It was more complicated.;)

If it were a Martin, it would surely be worth remaking the bridge with a split saddle. Anything's worth the money to fix up if it has the mojo. Your Luther is correct!

My wife is a big fan of 12 string guitars (two acoustic, three EA, one elec). They can be beasts, esp. older ones that start developing neck issues such warping and/or joint issues from years of nearly double the tension of a six string. Truss rod adjustments will only do so much, and have to be made carefully. And let's not forget unlevel frets and fret wear.

A 12s with neck bow issues and low monetary and low sentimental value is pretty much a fourth, maybe the sixth, fret guitar. With neck joint issues it becomes a decorative item.

Even new ones can be very uneven in sound quality. Factory set-ups can be atrocious, esp. when the action is crazy high with little or no saddle left to work with.
