I tried Lost in Space, but after a couple episodes had to throw in the towel. Every single character was little more than a blend of stereotypes, and by far the most obnoxious were the elite-scientist alpha-personality soccer mom and her animated-by-Disney son.

Been enjoying The Expanse and Star Trek Discovery a lot so far - Discovery a bit less because of idiot stereotypes, but that aspect is limited at least.

I gave it 4 episodes and found I really got into it. It took them a while to start developing some character depth. Not sure why, but I found it worth sticking out.

I just finished the second season of Luke Cage and Sweet Christmas....
It was actually better then the first in many ways.
The season was tighter, it didn't suffer the later episode drag that the first season did when they changed big bads and the themes were were well established.
It leaves Luke in an really interesting place for the third season too.
Even Danny Rand couldn't screw it up.
The one episode he was in wasn't really all that bad, even though the tonal shift felt a little weird.
It was great to see Detective Knight get her android arm and kick ass.
As usual Shades proved to be one of the more interesting characters on the show.

Agree with redravin on Luke Cage 2. I think it might be better than season 1.

I also think they might have solved the Iron Fist issue. The episode in which he appears is good. And Danny Rand is closer to what he is in the comics (but still not a great fighter and that's the biggest issue).

I've gotten hooked on 'The Rain' partially because I love stuff out of Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, etc. But, the story is also captivating.

Unfortunately, some of these shows that ¨look¨ good are subtitled, BUT you dont know if it is until they start talking....(no indication in the description)

New episodes of Shetland just came out.
It's a good British crime series set in the Shetland islands so you get them working cases on islands where there are just a handful of people, villages where everybody knows everybody and large towns.
It has interesting characters, the writing is good, and the scenery is just stunning.
I really like how they use the history of the area to good advantage as well.

This one has an English dubbed track, but that always makes me feel like I am having a psychotic break.

Watching Luke Cage now, I'll have a look at The Rain, and
    IIRC
I've seen the older Shetlands and liked it.

I'm surprised you didnt also mention the music at Paradise that is so well done. Real musicians getting a chance to be part of the show and adding to the flavor with a chance to strut their stuff. I have only watched a few episodes so far, but it was on the second episode where I had to look up the musicians being used. It's a nice sidepiece to the show. And I'm enjoying this season so far. Though I consider shade's character to be really annoying. Not very exciting and his sunglasses and forced low talking and gravelly voice are trite. I like bushmaster. Not a pretty face, but captivating. One last thing, it's good to see a show with so many black characters. And not just light skinned blacks either, but black people of all shades. Like real life.

  17. My wife and I both enjoy it. I am a big fan of THAT '70's SHOW, and even though Kutcher and Masterson aren't playing Kelso and Hyde, it's hard not to think of the connection in the characters.

Plus, several from T7S have been on. Debra Jo Rupp plays Kutcher's girlfriend's mother, Kurtwood Smith was an adjoining landowner, Wilmer Valderrama was in a few, and even Bret Harrison, who was slated to replace Topher Grace for Season 8 was in it for several episodes. I keep thinking Grace, Laura Prepon and Kutcher's wife Mila Kunis will show up at some point.

But Masterson is now being written out due to a "Me Too" claim.

Constantine is onNetflix. Along with that, I do not understand the poor overall review on rotten tomatoes. I think it is the best DC movie aside from wonder woman. One of the things I appreciate about sci-fi and fantasy movies is rules consistency through the movie. Which especially makes sense with constantine considering it is based around Catholicism. And Catholics love their rules. So the movie needs to be internally consistent and Constantine is. There is not a ton of exposition as far as fantastical elements, things are presented and accepted. I am fine with Tilda Swinton as the androgynous archangel Gabriel. Alan Rickman in Dogma established that Angel's do not have genitalia, so it makes sense the Gabriel is androgynous. At any rate without giving too much away, I think this is a worthy movie and punches well in the fantasy category.

I suspect that most of those ratings are from fanboys who hated it because of how little it was like the graphic novels as well as how Keanu Reeves looks and acts nothing like the Constantine from the books.
If they had named it something else, I suspect the movie would have done really well (except for the people complaining about how it ripped off Constantine.)
Many of the elements of the movie were very good, Tilda Swinton being one of them.
If you have seen the series and Mat Ryan as Constantine you will have a better idea of what Constantine is supposed to be like.
That was a series cancelled way too soon.
I am really looking forward to seeing him on Legends of Tomorrow this fall.
