Over wed/Thur night we were predicted to have "a light dusting" of snow. Got 4.5" which means that this winter is now the snowiest on record at 55.4" more than double the average. And still almost a month left in snow season. Local TV weather guy says that it has snowed as late as May8th. In 1968.

To add insult to misery, three years ago -- 2016-- on March 6th it was 82° F.

Sheesh! If I'd wanted to live in Alaska, I would have moved there.

Two days ago it snowed 5 inches but it's been sunny in the upper 40s and it's melting real fast.

60 today, dropping to 27 in the next 24 hours. Inches in my area are predicted for 3-7, 6-10 around other areas of Denver. The issue is going to be the wind gusts of up to 60 mph, whipping everything into the air and dropping visibility to near 0. Many school districts have alread closed with sunshine and warm breezes today.

Shits (literally, there is a special smell to spring in Alaska) melting during the day but freezing again at night so in the morning everything is an ice rink.

We have what is called the Greeley effect. Greeley is the manifestation of hell for Hindu people, where cows go to die and where hamburger comes from. Because of the large amounts of surrounding pasture for the mooing dead, the town has an aroma. When temps quickly drop, it is because cold air is pushing from the north, carrying the liquid fear of thousands of bovines to areas south of Greeley.

I call it the "Molly effect". I've got about ⅓ acre fenced in as a doggie run. Molly & Jackson eat a 40# bag of dog food every 10 days or so. While I'm good about cleaning up after them, there's only so much you can do in the winter.

I've been known to bribe grandkids in the spring.

Flooding all over the state. Several smaller size towns completely cut off by roads flooded. Three flood-control dams have failed.

A pair of horses seeking shelter during last-week's blizzard in the Nebraska Sandhills. The Sandhills are in North-Central Nebraska. Sig and I own a minority interest in a cattle ranching partnership. He was up there last week working to help rescue stranded livestock.
