He was right about that one. I thought it was only 1% of the far right crazies who were racist and we had put most of it behind us. Especially with the election of Obama and the popularity and support he had in 2008.

But, I didn't realize there was so many hidden racists out there still.

Exactly. I am disappointing in the media for not doing the tough job of investigations and going undercover to find out about people. But, the people don't care either.

I am disappointed in the political campaigns for not doing better opposition research and releasing it too. There have been a few stories that should have come out during the campaign because this information either had been in the news previously or it was clear it was happening.

Why the Secret Service spent thousands at a Trump hotel — POLITICO

Oh, there’s no conflict of interest or corruption HERE...
    (end sarcasm...nope continue, it’s a necessity)

Problem is, the Senate submarines any investigation or check action on this stuff.
Since McConnell and the GOP majority there doesn’t want to create waves for themselves and their erstwhile ally/leader Mr T

Conflict of interest and corruption there too.
    (Continues sarcasm...)

If 45 is sooo rich then he can afford to give the taxpayer a break and allow the secret service to stay for free.

There is a part of me that wants to think 45 is smart and totally knows what he is doing.
Even if he is representing the darkest impulses of this country.
Even if he is going to destroy our system of government piece by piece.
Even if he is tearing apart the security net that protects the young and old.
Even if he is destroying our national monuments and environment to sell to the highest bidder.
And most of all, even if he is kissing Putin's ass every chance he gets.

Because it is just so embarrassing to think we would have installed someone in the White House who is stick, stock and stone stupid.
Even if we didn't vote for him, as so many of supporters like to point out, he is still our president and we want him to be at least as smart as we are.
How could anyone say or do the things he does without some sort of a plan?
He must know exactly what he is doing.

Lest we forget the last time something like this happened it was Ronald Reagan's second term and it turned out he was in the early stages of dementia.
He didn't know what was happening from one day to the next much less anything about being president.

45 has gone far beyond anything Reagan did and we are just accepting it because...
To be honest I don't know why.
All I really know is we are fucked.

Followup, I spoke to someone who’s retired CIA
She said that even if Mr T was a “useful idiot” at first...that his progression and extent he is advocating for Russia, he is now by definition an Asset.

    Sad we’re in this place.

But @redravin to followup on your post, the reason we’re here is because a good portion of the country couldn’t vote for the “icky smart girl”, and there was enough distrust stories put out.

That and many were duped thinking he’s a great businessman and celebrity

Shows you the American public is poor at evaluating and can be easily influenced.

Question is, will we that foolish again??

I know at least 40% of the nation is, according to the continuing polls.

'He's losing his s---': Trump's advisers are increasingly worried about his mental state following days of erratic behavior

    Uhh, no shit
Tell us something we don’t know

Most who’re not in denial have been aware of this since the start...if not before.

And it’s not going to get better
    It will get worse

Basically, we’re just watching an insane person in real time
    Recording what we can
Hoping he won’t get anyone killed.

Curious what the historians will fine out.
Most wont be revealed until decades later

And that still will be the tip of the iceberg
Reality is just a fraction of what we observe

    From humorous (above) to shameful.....

For the first time since The Refugee Act of 1980 that created the federal refugee resettlement program, Trump is reportedly planning on not allowing any refugees displaced from war torn countries or fleeing religious persecution by oppressive regimes to enter the US through the Refugee Resettlement Program. (part of the UN program in which refugees go through a UN refugee camp and a comprehensive screening process).

Democrats, advocates blast reported White House plan to cut refugee cap to zero

    So much for....

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”
