Red Rocks. Been here 12 years and have only seen one concert there. That was Rush. Sadly, where we were sitting the sound was not good. We were center, a bit more than halfway up. I don't know if speakers were overlapping, but it was painful to listen to. Alex Lifeson's guitar was painful every time he lit up. I'm sure it was just one bad overlapping node. I'll go back someday.

I'd love attend a concert at RR, but maybe an acoustic set.

I saw RUSH many years ago, in the late '70s. They were so loud--and I've been to many concerts--so painfully loud every time Lief Erikson (sp?) said "Thanks!" it was like spikes through my eardrums.

So it might not have been just the acoustics.

Well i did see them in college at the atlanta hawks stadium in the 90's and then the snakes and arrows tour in 2002 at merriweather post pavilion. I don't remember my ears being blistered for those. But that could be the passage of time.

Maybe over time RUSH learned louder isn't better.

I saw them at the (long gone) Music Hall, average acoustics, about 2,200 seats. In retrospect I wonder why RUSH, probably at their peak popularity, were booked into the Music Hall.

Screenshot_20200422-124734_Samsung Internet.jpg Screenshot_20200422-124816_Samsung Internet.jpg Uptown theater in Washington D.C. apparently I saw Star Wars when I was 3 and also I remember my dad taking me to Return of the Jedi there. Only other movie I saw there was the Matrix. Convinced my brother in law and stepfather to go. Went to the upper balcony, second row. A minute later the people in front got up and left. We hesitated about three seconds before hopping into the fron row of the balcony. It was magical. Seriously. Between the seats and the view, and that movie that blew our minds. I still love going to the theater to see movies. Even convinced my wife at the time to see Hateful 8 in the 70 mm projection. Great thing was no previews because nothing had been shot on real 70 mm film in years. Everything is digital now.

Houston, TX, Sam Houston Coliseum, Houston Music Hall, demolished decades ago.

They're nothing spectacular architecturally or acoustically, but they are part of Houston's history, including its history of demolishing important landmark buildings in the name of progress.
