IIRC Jose Andres' effort is Puerto Rico was feature story on CBS News, possibly 60 Minutes. What he accomplished at ground level in so short of a time was nothing short of amazing. I developed a new respect for Andres, because my impression of him, based on bits & pieces on TV, is he's an arrogant prick.

At the PO/WS level I think there are more base hits (I don't know if the stats support this) which make for longer innings. IIRC last nights game only had two 1-2-3 innings.

The Astros are alive & well with a 8-1 win, which evens the series at 2-2. I honestly didn't think they could do it.

    But it ain't over yet.

Yes, a win would certainly help Verlander with his loss record (literally a record) in the POs.

All righty then. 7-1 win, 3-2 series lead. Now the Astros have to remember (like they are likely to forget) and avoid what the Nats did to them in games one & two.

Four straight wins? Can the Astros do it?

Two more BTB road wins? Can the Nationals do it?

FOX, and most baseball fans, would probably like a seven game series. I want the Astros to wrap this up in six; screw risking a game seven.

Big Mo is now an Astro!

But hope rests on the arm of Strasburg in Game 6 and a possible return of Scherzer in Game 7.

    Keep hope alive!

As a life long Red Sox fan I really don’t care which team wins I only hope it goes 7 games because I hate to see baseball season end. I love baseball and watch every game I can regardless of who’s playing. I really had to laugh when Trump got booed and they started chanting Lock him up!

    Down 7-2.

    Bottom of the ninth.

    Can the Astros do it?

    That's a rhetorical question, right?

Strasburg had one hell of a game.

I just saw a stat on TV:

Of the eight road teams that forced a game seven in the WS, seven lost game seven.

Hey, I'm grasping for any hope. All these home team losses have me nervous.

Part of me wants the Astros to score so many runs early the last few innings are merely obligatory. But part of me says the Nationals deserve to put up a good fight (just not too good, lol).

Of course I'm sure Nats fans wouldn't mind the Astros being neutered early in the game. And they could win big, or small.

    We'll find out soon enough.

    Here's to a good game!
