I think americans want a president who is just like them. Which is exactly why Obama is president and why he'll be president for a second term.

So no talk about doing for yourself and being self responsible? You just simply replace government provides with God provides?

I always figured- in God we trust, all others pay cash.

I think libertarians tend to understand that this country was founded upon a belief in God and has been blessed by God as a result. The decline of this republic is explained by a nation who has turned away from a belief in God to a belief in self.

"In God We Trust" is printed on U.S. currency to proclaim that, while our nation may use said currency, we will not allow it to replace God.

Yes, way back in 1956 they decided to print that on the money. The founding fathers were going to do it but they got caught up in the whole "freedom of religion" thing.

Plus your response, as usual, avoids responding to my question.

All the libertarians I know in real life and on the internet are atheists (I don't think Eddie is really a libertarian, but not because he believes in the Jesus).

I don't think that submitting to god's will is necessary congruent with liberty.

As my good friend God says:
"Because, Satan, the god of this world has made blind the minds of those who have not faith, so that the light of the good news of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, is not shining in them"

Do you know Ron Paul? He's not an atheist.

crossing libertarian views with this backwater christianity is a dangerous thing because it draws a line between the "real" americans and the parasites. and if you look at the glorious history of, say, germany in the 1930s and 40s, you have a good idea of how that turns out. same thing with stalin, really, and the inside/outside division concerning who was part of the revolution and who was a hiltero-trotskyite wrecker or sabateur. of you go back to the jacobin period of the french revolution, you can say that at least there was no real criteria for determining who was a counter-revolutionary. i'd prefer that to some stupid, essentialist idea. the paulbots would be like pol pot except standing by the constitution and blabbing about freedom while they exterminated the godless. all very black and tan. sounds way american.

The fact that Paul is not an atheist and you support Paul does not... oh, just never mind.

You should read Revelation; there's your extermination.

    Jesus was a socialist.

But, that doesn't have much to do with Occupy Wall Street.

now we have it. the closest we'll see to eddie owning up to the disaster that his political viewpoint would be were it implemented. he'd be one of the four horsemen, attacking the whore of babylon. except jesus would be doing it. sparing the shiny people and wiping out the bad ones. but who knows....maybe i'd be one of the 144K.

    you're nuts, pardner.

I think this thread has officially "jumped the shark."

I'm nuts for believing the Bible? I guess there's a lot of nuts out there, including Obama, who is a self proclaimed "christian."

It really doesn't matter why he thinks I'm nuts, it doesn't change the truth one bit.

That's true and the facts, based on what you've posted, are you're nuts.

  18. Eddie Getting Tilted

You're going to have to define "nuts." It can be interpreted in so many different ways.

I thought you said he was a God to be feared? Now he's a loving God? Is he bi-polar?

Well yeah! It appears he is!
