They did a remake of the old series.
    It's on CBS All Access.
It is decidedly not a family friendly show. Unfortunately I won't be watching it with the 7 year old.
Watching the first episode now. I really like it so far.

What do you think of it?

I watched it as a kid, maybe not 7, but I would have been around that age when the later seasons were first on TV.

I don't remember a lot about it though except he drove a Jeep, used a swiss army knife, and there were some explosions...

We watched it as kids, too. And my kids have seen a few episodes of it.

    But there's a new one!

My wife likes it, esp seasons one and two with George Eades (season three is currently showing, it's on right now).

I'm not a fan, but my tolerance for the highly improbable and realistically impossible is very low. Some call it the suspension of disbelief, I prefer to call the No F*ck*ng Way Factor.

As the series has progressed (regressed?) the NFWF has increased. We watched but didn't follow the original McGyver, but it had a tongue-in-cheek vibe that is lacking in the new series.

My tells me, "Just put your brain in neutral.". No, I won't do it.

Ah, the new one. I haven't watched it yet. Is the older one on CBS All Access? I don't know if the old one is family friendly or not, but my parents didn't care about what I watched.

Hmmmm. I used to watch the classic one on Netflix. It's not there anymore.
Reel good claims it is on CBS streaming with commercials for free. And CBS All Access.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

I remember the original series being good fun.
Glad to hear it's back, sorry to hear it's NSFW. I bet at least one of my kids would enjoy it but she's only 10.

V2.0 is missing the sense of fun; it has a OMG-This-HAS-To-Work! seriousness. I think Richard Dean Anderson helped make V1.0 fun.

NSFW....sort of.....but, yes, there are some things that might be difficult to explain to younger kids.

    I only wish.

My wife will watch almost anything. Have I ever mentioned how much I think the new Hawaii Five-0
    TOTALLY SUCKS?

    Annnd... It's a hit!
I am amazed that it keeps their attention and interest. Now that's a show I enjoy putting on.
