Pointless announcements 2.0

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by cynthetiq, Apr 1, 2017.

  1. Yeah, if that was forecasted. Lol. What was forecasted was 7-9 inches of snow with blinding sleet and below normal temps.

What we actual got was 3 inches of snow, some rain, and 35 degree weather. Went up to 45 today and all the ice melted.

If the forecast was "winter being winter. No big deal. Just wait it out and you'll be fine." I'd have no gripes.

TBH, I think the majority of my issue is that I work in a STEM field and my team and I have to be accurate. Meteorologists get multiple passes for being wrong. Just irks me.

Stupid can be funny. Well, sometimes.

I was channel surfing the other day, and ended up watching Talladega Nights. And I thought it was funny.

    Go figure.

Local TV station has started showing four or five different "models" when precip. is predicted. Surprising how much they vary.

My older dog figured out 2 things this week

    One good
    One bad

She learned to use the doggy steps up my bed without my prompting or assistance

She also learned how to step on the kitchen trash can to open and get at what she considers goodies
    (AND makes a horrible mess)

Smart, cunning and a pain in my tush
    But I love her

Pretty good for a 13 yo
I hope I’m that capable when I get to her age
(and look as good...she’s still got pep like a pup)

...time to reposition the can so she can’t step on it easy
    Geez

    Enjoy her.

Our two oldest dogs recently died about five days apart.

The "new" Hawaii Five-0 is ending its 10 season run in a week.

My wife thinks I'm being an asshole for considering this a gift from Gawd.

  17. How in the absolute hell, did that show survive 10 seasons? I watched the first episode years ago, and couldn't take it.

I remember it came on the same night as that one police drama based in Los Angeles about a detective team investigating stalkers.

I watched both....and I knew...just KNEW both of those shows would be cancelled in a single season. Lol, I was wrong .

I don't know (to answer a rhetorical question). People are stupid & lazy, they want mindless entertainment, and Hawaii Five-0 delivered.

It got worse, much worse, each episode and each season. The writers quit caring about disbelief, the more improbable and unbelievable the better.

I'd rather watch reruns (we have free antenna TV) of Homicide: Life on the Streets. Which none of our free channels shows.

Now that the shelter at home has been extended, I've actually started working out. Only have done 2 so far, and they are fairly limited to free hand exercises and some dumbbell work, but still, it's a start.
