    It’s a gray day
    Time to be lazy

    I was already productive
I took the garbage out of the can.

Nope, haven’t replaced the liner or took the trash out yet.

Ate 2 times by nuking food.

    Mostly reading.

    Saturday’s are my zen days.
    Sunday is chore day

    Monday will be a hike
Because the sun will finally be out again

That is......I don't even have words for it.
I've never experienced anything like that in my life.

And some mornings you can literally feel the humidity wilting a starched dress shirt.

Not that I've worn one in several years.

    Now that I think back.......
20 years ago I went to a conference in New Orleans. It was the first week of June.
Big conference, like 20,000 plus people.
I was staying at a hotel about 2 blocks from the conference center.
I arrived the night before and went straight from the airport to a cab with AC and right into the hotel lobby.
As I check in the lady at the desk points out where I should catch the shuttle in the morning to take me to the conference center.
Mind you at that point I am around 30 years old, trim and fit.
I thought "Why is she telling me to take a shuttle to the conference? It's 2 blocks away. I'm going to walk."

Next morning I get up, walk out the front door of the hotel at 0830 and head for the conference center.
By the time I made it 100 feet I was drenched in sweat. It was like someone had taken a steaming hot towel and wrapped me in it.
Suddenly it made sense to take the shuttle......

I have no idea how people can live in that heat and humidity.

Its forecast to be 14c and cloudy today, so very cool, but just a 3 or 4 knots of wind, so not too bad a day. Its monday 7.20am here in Adelaide.

And suddenly, it's summer here. High's in the mid-80's, New Orleans' type humidity. As always, no spring around here, right from winter to summer.

    You southerners might enjoy this:

We just had an entire summer weekend where the temperature at our house never hit 60F.
Yesterday was gray and chilly with a high of 56F.
It was 40F outside when I woke up this morning. Areas nearby had light frost.
We had about an hour of morning sun and then it clouded over. 58F now, it had briefly hit 59F earlier.

Not that I'm happy mind you. Summer is too short here to have an entire weekend of October weather in June.

Hot! Got near the 100s yesterday
    Today in the 90s
The rest of the week in the 90s

Thank goodness I moved out of my apt where the AC didn’t work well. Now nice and cool.

Yeah I know it sucks and it's just going to get hotter but it is what it is. I was going to do yard work yesterday but the wife and I didn't do anything but kind of watch TV and be couch potatoes so now I got to do it today when it's hotter but it was worth it

Lots of thunder and lightning right now
    In and off rain
    Something comforting about it.

Nice to just sit on the covered deck and chill watching and listening

A bit of vodka and juice helps too. ;)

There was the slightest hint of fall in the air during my ride this morning, and I loved it.

It’s hard to lose the extra daylight, but I’m ready.

    Things are changing........
I have to turn the light on now when I wake up for work. That just started last week.
And I think the big heat is over for us up here.
The last 2 months were as hot and humid a stretch as we've seen.
The forecast for the rest of this week has highs in the 70's. It's spectacular riding weather.

my state is on fire. Not around me, but depending on which way the wind Is blowing, creates a lot of haze. Screenshot_20200819-123920_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20200819-123937_Gallery.jpg

When every computer model shows TD14 heading more or less directly for Houston.......

Hopefully it will start to weaken before landfall, and a sharp western turn wouldn't hurt my feelings.

48F yesterday morning and I wore gloves to ride my bicycle to work. First time in months.
(My ride to work is all downhill and parts are steep for the first 1.5 miles).

crazy weather. they say we sill see lots of rain from the storms in the gulf. and highs in the lower 80s which is crazy low for this time of year here. should be in the upper 90s or low 100s
