    Shyster Trump is a contrarian.
Shyster Trump is smarter than everyone else.
    Shyster Trump is stubborn.

Combine those three traits, and you have someone will not listen to good advice under any circumstances, unless it supports his position.

I was actually surprised that Shyster hadn't said or Tweeted something really stupid recently. Then I heard the reports about the "demand" for Bubba Wallace to apologize for the hoax, and criticizing NASCAR for removing the confederate flag. Yep, Shyster is back in form.

Well, at least one state in Australia has had a heavy outbreak of Covid this week. With their largest daily new case count since the beginning yesterday, we are starting to see a significant second wave (after all the back slapping about it being controlled). Internal state borders out of Victoria are locked as of midnight last night, with police roadblock at all border crossings. I still think we have a lot of undocumented cases and coming into winter we have a lot of people with flu like symptoms, many who haven't been tested.

We are now seeing the results of easing lockdown restrictions.

    FYI
    Cases rising but deaths falling??
    Hold on a minute...

COVID-19 cases are rising, but deaths are falling. What’s going on? — Vox

As this virus is still new and unprecedented
    It’s unpredictable
We need to figure out and observe the trends

    This even throws off experts.
As they got much wrong during the start

We’re still in the first cycle
And it’s not like much we’ve experienced before

First thing - keep yourself safe
Second - careful on the things we “think” work around it.

Remember, the shit doesn’t give a shit what you think or want.
Not the economy, not your desires, not your comfort.
You ignore it, you may get zapped.
A lottery you do NOT wanna win.

Just hunker down, be boring and bored for awhile
Hey, past generations did it, we can too.

This storm will pass sooner or later.
But don’t get struck by lightning

Our kids' school has shared with us their plan for returning to school this Fall, and I am impressed.

    They've added outdoor classrooms.
They've made an empty lot into a fenced playing field as an additional alternative playground.
They've added full time cleaning staff.
They have committed to very small class sizes for in-person instruction, and classes won't intermingle (less disease transmission).
They've improved tech in the classrooms so families can choose to send their kids virtually or in person, and if a child gets sick they can easily follow the lessons from home.
    They've added a school counselor.
They'll check temperatures before the kids get out of their cars in the car line.
    All employees will wear masks.
The kids will be encouraged to wear masks.
And my favorite: they are expanding science education in all classes.

I love our school. I cannot wait.

    And epidemiologist with Christian faith.

She’s posted some very interesting things the past few days. This is not geared to me because I no longer understand some of the connections but it still resonates with me to some degree. If this helps other faithful come around then that’s great.

    COVID-19 Posts

As an epidemiologist whose work is motivated greatly by my faith, my career has been anchored around helping the most vulnerable. I’ve often called the field of epidemiology, “the field of the Good Samaritan”. (And interpreting the data through that lens). During the current pandemic, we know who the vulnerable are – and, we also know what it means to not walk on by.

What if the greatest expression of faith we can give to the world includes not walking by? Maybe the harvest is ripe and we’re missing the opportunity?

Studies Report Rapid Loss of COVID-19 Antibodies

This is likely why herd immunity or even normal minimal buildup in immunity doesn't work...
This sucker is vicious and any antibodies fade fast...even with those that had it.
Meaning your body can't prevent it as well as other illnesses
and you can get it again.
And it may be a factor why it takes so long to fade for many.

I'm preaching to the choir here, but wear a mask (or a face shield.)

    Again, WEAR A MASK!

It's a damn shame that an epidemiologist has to couch things in religious mumbo jumbo to try to get some idiots to do the right thing. Seriously, maybe she should consider that religion is not actually serving a benefit anymore.

I have seen a drastic increase in interest in Homeschooling among women with college degrees.
