I've had a pair of accounts on and off to test security settings and whether I could configure Facebook to work the way I want it to.

I gave up, no Facebook for me.

I miss the latter seven months of 2013, how happy I was then, and the reasons why.

    :(

I spent four hours this afternoon blasting the same symphony into my earbuds on repeat while sitting at my cube at work with tears streaming down my face.

To be fair, it’s a damned good symphony.

I can relate. Some music just gets me emotionally. @DamnitAll I get especially choked up listening to the Shostakovich 8th String Quartet. specifically an oldie recording by the Borodin Quartet. The Emerson's is good as well.

I've been on an American symphony jag lately. Yesterday I listened to Howard Hanson's 4th, Roy Harris' 3rd, Aaron Copland's 3rd and two different recordings of Samuel Barber's First. All courtesy of youtube.

I have wanted to learn and perform Shostakovich's 8th since high school (have done the 5th and the third movement from the 3rd so far, but that's it). It's on my wish list of pieces to learn and be coached on at the summer chamber workshop I've been going to off and on for a few years now. I would've requested it for this summer had the session not been cancelled due to COVID.

Love some Barber and Copland... I was lucky enough to perform the Barber Violin Concerto as a soloist with orchestra last June. That piece will always have a super special place in my heart, as will Appalachian Spring.

I've been struggling to find motivation to practice lately, with nothing specific to work towards or prepare for in the immediate, known future. My violin sits in the corner of the living room in its case, forlorn and neglected going on seven months now. I'll open the case occasionally to make sure she hasn't imploded inside it, but nothing more than that. Yet. Listening to more music will help, I hope.

You must be an accomplished player@DamnitAll.:) The Barber is quite virtuosic. Just looking at the solo violin part gives me a headache...

For what it's worth, this little ditty, "Children's March: Over the Hills and Far Away, will nearly always bring me out of a funk:

Once I realized that Facebook was selling me and everyone friended or friended by a friend and everyone they friended to infinity, I deleted everything to do with it after apologizing to everyone.

  14. I miss the daytime drama series "Passions". I didn't get a chance to actually watch the whole series from beginning to end, due to being in school. To this day, I'm still looking for a way to purchase it.

Perhaps if you understand that every "Friend" you make or have, you have sold to the company and every friend they have has been sold as well. Everyone on Facebook is reduced to the commodity they are to the company and used in whatever way they choose.
