This is happening. Unless something really huge happens, Biden is winning.

After we see where the Senate lands then the question becomes what next?

To answer a most likely rhetorical question...
Formulating a national plan to deal with covid-19 would be a good start.

I'm kind of shocked that the overall economy hasn't taken more of a hit. Maybe it is because the rich and Wall St. aren't going through a recession, but I think the general population should be in worse shape now than after the 2009 housing scam bubble popped.

I sent my absentee ballot September. I'm still not seeing that it was counted. So I wrote to them. This is what I got back.

    Good Afternoon,

If you voted in person, you watched the ballot go into the scanner and be counted.

Please understand that votes being counted and credit being given to the voter are two separate things. Your ballot was counted, however credit has not yet been given as we must scan every barcode in the poll books for every voter that voted on Election Day.

    We appreciate your patience.

    Hi,

I have checked the voting system several times and it is not able to even find me.

Can you please let me know what has happened to my absentee ballot I sent in end of September?

Do you know if they received it? Although maybe they don't scan it in until they count it, and they still have 85,000 ballots to count.

We Have Never Had Final Results on Election Day

I think I've said this before...
They really need to outlaw projections.

    1. We've seen the polls can be off
    2. It influences later voting in other time zones, or even within the same location.

For example, someone getting off late at work, may say "screw it" after seeing leads, and not vote.
This is not a horse race.
    It has real consequences.

Oh, poor media, for not getting their story or scoop

Another idea: How about some federal guidelines on ballot counting?Namely allowing/mandating early starts on counting early voting, mail-in ballots, etc.

State autonomy is crucial to avoiding potential federal manipulation.* However, the officials who didn't attempt a solution, and those who refused to allow solutions, failed the voters.

The delays give Team Trump extra time to mount challenges.

OTOH, as voter fatigue continues to set in more people are going say, "Look, Biden won, deal with it."

    * Can you imagine Trump and the Senate having a major say in how the states handle ballots?:eek:

Will Whineyass Conman officially turn the White House to Biden,
or will he pull another flagrant act of defiance (only in his mind) like McCain's funeral?

I'm hearing the word "healing" said by Biden and others.

    Healing is needed.

    But
the last time I heard politicians, the news media, and others who follow politics use "healing" so many times was when Ford pardoned Nixon.

I know these are dumb questions..

1-will Trump be able to overturn the election?
2.If he can not will he actually concede? or will he always say he got cheated?
3-Will it be a smooth transition if he is not able to overturn it?
4-Is it just me or does it seem like Biden did to him what he did to Hillary?

    The easy ones first.

Trump's "concession" will actually be more like under protest because they stole the election.

Trump could make transition easier, but I'm not clear on just much the incoming team and the outgoing team work together. I hope that Trump's team ignores any bluster by Trump, and follows normal protocol. NOTE: Clinton's team was not especially gracious when they left after George W. Bush was elected.

The election results. It is possible that enough delays could be created by Team Trump to cause the electoral college votes to be decided by the respective state legislature. The results being challenged are in Republican controlled states.

The chances of this happening is highly unlikey because so many things would have to perfectly fall into place.

Now something that is purely my thought: Biden should be able to challenge Trump "cherry picking" the states and intentionally delaying the official tallies. Suppose it reached this point, and the Supreme Court had to decide if the system was unfairly manipulated. While I would trust the SC to decide against the manipulation, the general concensus is we have six conservative justices, and three liberal/moderate justices. If they vote along party affiliation, the manipulation could stand.

Again, the chance of the respective states pulling such an obvious manipulation is extremely small.

    Edit to add...

I don't see the Hillary comparison. Trump pulled a major upset in 2016. In 2020 the race was predicted as being extremely close.
