    Can we
And Conman Trump still has the presidential powers to take actions that could be disastrous.

What if he suddenly nuked several large cities in China? My understanding is he has the codes, no one can stop him. It's not the same as military officials flatly refusing to follow a presidential order (or more likely putting on a show of compliance while delaying taking an real action).

IMO the US would not win a war with China. It might, or might not, take China a while to get organized, but they could have a military machine, troops and weapons in abundance, the world has never seen. The US could also gear up quickly and well, but we would eventually be overwhelmed by their numbers. Involving other nations would mean WW3.

This is something I had thought about before, having read all the Tom Clancy novels when they were hot and fresh in the 80s. We could not invade and take the land mass of China, but they could not touch us. We could shut them down completely in isolation. We are completely dominant in the oceans. Most countries have one or two carrier groups. We have at 7. We park all of those off the coast of China, and no ome gets in or out. Over a thousand planes and bombers running sorties into their country, and sinking any vessel that moves without our permission. Plus our entire sub fleet. They run out of resources when their overland pipelines are destroyed. When no oil comes from the middle East. When their solar grids are smashed. And they don't have the ability to do that to us, unless they want to go MAD with nukes. So we starve them from the rest of the world. Obviously this would all be horrific. But China knows this and its why they keep trying to make islands in the south China sea. They want missile platforms. They want airbases in the ocean. Missiles are relatively cheap and very powerful. So we have our antimissile defenses to protect our carriers. Now one air detonated nuke takes out a carrier fleet, but that opens the door for tactical nukes to be used on them. Like the dams on the yangtze.

Pelosi and Schumer have already confirmed with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Pentagon, that Trump cannot trigger it just himself anymore.

There are safeguards and authorizations he’d have to go through and he cannot do it without their permission.

That privilege and authority has been taken away.
    It’s been done.

Pelosi asks Joint Chiefs about preventing Trump from launching nukes

That makes me feel much better.

Conman is in Texas today patting himself on the back for border wall accomplishments that are (of course) greatly exaggerated.

I am wondering about the Senate. Mitch might want him out, and there are more than a few GOP Senators that might not want to vote against him, but don't want him running in 2024.

He’s going to be thrown under the bus
Just as he would anyone else...including GOP
(look what he did to Pence)

    Dems want Justice and revenge
The GOP wants its old way back...rebuild

T is going to be very lonely soon.

Besides, many GOP Senators want a try at being top dog
They wouldn’t do it if T was still around.

He pushed over the House of cards himself...

I like how many political pundits are asking
    Republican politicians and
members of the Conservative Slanted News Media:
Why are they suddenly wanting reconciliation and cooperation?
Where were their offers for the same before
the Presidential election, the US senate runoff in Georgia,
    and the Capitol Building Invasion?
    What have they done and
what are they willing to do
    to deserve reconciliation and cooperation?
Isn't it the equivalent of sweeping issues
caused by the Republicans under the rug?

Yesterday Conman Trump denied any responsibility
    for the Capitol Building Invasion.
"What I said is totally appropriate."

    Defiant to the end.

Hopefully the end will come before 20 Jan 21.

Conman Trump's hospitality businesses have been hit hard by covid-19. Hopefully the withdrawal of corporate business will bury him.

I wonder what the PGA withdrawal cost Conman?
    I might research that.

Note: I sympathize with the people low on the food chain who rely directly and indirectly on Conman for a paycheck. Except those people who are actively supporting his delusions (sometimes you pay a price for obtusely standing by your beliefs).

It will be nice to have this gone...

Opinion: The perfect symbol of the Trump years — CNN

More and more kept on being put up.
    Especially during this administration

Heck, I remember when you could drive by the White House
And walk directly up to the Congress and look in a window
    ...back in 2000

That all changed after 9/11 and GW’s push to secure DC

But T took it to an extreme
    Especially when the protests started

"...seven feet tall and considered unscaleable."

    Is that ^ a joke?
    /rhetorical question
More optics? Don't make it unattractive? God forbid should people see a real fence that reminds them a crazed, and organized mob, invaded the Capitol Building, murdering one law enforcement officer, and causing the death of at least one other in the process.

    Perfect Trump fence.
    Expensive and extremely ineffective.

It's mostly symbolic, but House Resolution 24 passed.

Conman Trump is the only POTUS to twice be impeached.

And in only one term at that.

While the impeachment vote was taking place, Trump released a lame and disingenuous three sentence written message through Fox News to the MAGA mob not to engage in violence in advance of, and during, the inauguration.

Trump calls on Americans, Big Tech to help ensure peaceful transition: 'NO violence'

"In light of reports of more demonstrations, I urge that there must be NO violence, NO lawbreaking and NO vandalism of any kind," the president said in a statement to Fox News. "That is not what I stand for and it is not what America stands for. I call on ALL Americans to help ease tensions and calm tempers. Thank You.

If Trump was sincere and really wanted to do the right thing, he would go on live national TV in prime time for the next few nights and acknowledge he has been lying to his supporters and spreading baseless conspiracy theories for months about a stolen election. He would make it clear that he lost in a fair and democratic election, take responsibility for the rioting, plead and demand that the MAGA thugs stay home and allow for a peaceful transition of power and congratulate Joe Biden in advance for becoming the 46th president of the United states.

But he simply does not have the strength of character to do that.

I noticed something about Conman Trump...or maybe I'm imagining it.

When Conman is speaking and believes in what he's saying (even if it's Trump-O-Vision bullshit), he talks with his hands and moves his upper body. He's quite animated.

When he delivers a speech he doesn't believe in,
basically 'because he has to,' he stands very still.

Conman Trump posted a prerecorded five minute video.

His condemning violence might have came across as more sincere (yes, that's a stretch, personally I don't believe him) if he had not included a comment/complaint about first amendment rights.

He is a very boring speaker when he's reading a script. And he sat nearly still, very little movement. Monotone + little movement = he made the recording against his will.
