Hank Aaron died today.

I remember Hammerin' Hank breaking Babe Ruth's homerun record.

By all accounts he was a man of integrity and class on and off the field.

RIP, Mr. Aaron. Thank you for the memories.

Living here in GA i saw him quite a few times. He was a constant here at my dealership. He had a F-150 and brought it in for service whenever it was needed. Every time he came in he always spoke to people, especially kids.
He will be missed not only in the baseball world but in the public eye.
Their will never be another one like him, very humble, and very brave.
He played before I was born but I wish i could have seen him play.

 

I'm just realizing the Hank Aaron that drew so much attention in the mid 1970s was in what would have been the "twilight years" of their career for many players at his age.

I remember being embarrassed, as a white young teenager, by the racial hatred directed at him.

I've never been a huge baseball fan, but I do recall being POd that Bonds was going to be associated with several of Aaron's achievements.

 

I agree with the bonds association, but just like mcgwire and sosa, it was part of the steroid era. In my mind and my personal opinion Hammerin Hank Aaron will always be the home run king

 

Interesting idea, but no.
