I haven't looked up the stats, I'm just going by what they've done generally speaking. Stafford and Dalton are basically above average, but not great, QBs who played for bad teams.

Matthew Stafford is the center of one of the biggest, and ultimately most expensive, trades in NFL history.

Andy Dalton didn't receive much interest last year, ended up signing a one year contract with the cowgirls for $3M. I don't know what his situation will be in the '21 season.

What am I missing in Stafford over Dalton?

    Another thought...

If the NFL has indeed had a policy of "Protect Tom Brady" (which could be greatly exaggerated or false), what will happen if he does continue even after age 45?

Stafford has more heart, more drive and a way better arm.. And he said he wants out.

I agree. The stats* show Stafford being the better QB, although not by huge margins. I'd say Stafford did a better job of rising above a mediocre team than did Dalton.

    * But the stats also show Romo is a better QB than E. Manning. Yes...until you consider their playoffs performances. Some say Eli was very lucky to be supported by solid defenses. I say Romo was unable to capitalize on playing for very good teams, on both sides of the ball.

I guess I'm saying stats don't tell the full story.

They are saying that is the old GOAT vs the new GOAT. so we will see.
I think Brady has time in the pocket he can pull it off, but if KC is all over him he will get frustrated and TB will implode.

It amazes me at the prop bets that their are. The odd one I found was

-- What's more: Tackles + Assists for Jason Pierre Paul or fingers on the right hand of Jason Pierre Paul (he's the guy who lost some of his fingers in a fireworks accident a few years back).

The Chiefs play--so far--reminds me of how Andy Reid used to coach, yo-yo with stupid mistakes at the worst possible times. Except the Chiefs are missing the upside.

    I'm seriously pissed off.

    To be fair,

Tampa Bay's defense seriously kicked ass. On that note, a lesser QB than Mahommes would've had a much worse game.

Now the hard part :(...Brady wasn't spectacular, but he was certainly efficient.

Arians and his coaches thoroughly outcoached Reid and his coaches.

Setting aside my dislike of all things Patriots, Belichick, and Brady...

Brady, and Gronk, can give Belichick the one finger salute.

The debate over who gets more credit Belichick or Brady will never be settled (unless Belichick sticks around say another ten years as HC and totally sucks). No matter Brady does away from Belichick, his development will always be tied to Belichick, as will most of his accomplishments.

If Brady didn't want to share the spotlight with Belichick, he should've left the Patriots 10 years ago. But chances are very good he wouldn't have many of the records he holds.

    Brady would've flourished without Belichick.
Probably, or maybe. If yes, Brady would not have the numerous PO & SB records because what Belichick did with the team around Brady can't be ignored.

Belichick would've flourished with another good QB.
This is a tough one. If you look at the number of good QBs who have wasted their careers with slightly above average teams, you could say yes. But if you look at where they were drafted compared to Brady, things aren't so clear. And it's difficult to say how another QB would've responded to Belichick.

It's possible Brady and Belichick have mutual respect and no hard feelings. The no hard feelings I doubt based on Belichick's reputation for being ironfisted.

Well, there was some entertainment, sort of :

Watching Mahommes run for his life, and very nearly complete some impossible desperation throws.

Counting the number of DUMBASS penalties
    committed by the Chiefs.
Jumping offsides trying to time the snap is one thing,
lining up in the neutral zone is DUMBASS.

Counting how long Brady had to throw the ball.

Calculating Brady's completion percentage as the game progressed.

Trying to understand why the members of the Chiefs defense were talking shit to Brady, especially after say mid third quarter.

Trying to understand the Chiefs' "offensive strategy" in the second half.
    It was offensive.

Watching the "highly regarded and much respected" Andy Reid revert back to the "he'll find a way to lose" Andy Reid.
[Do the announcers intentionally overlook how times Reid's coaching failed the talent level? His shortcomings used to be discussed.]

    **********

    In all seriousness,

I don't know if Arians and coaches deserve all credit for completely controlling the Chiefs,

or if the Chiefs deserve to be ridiculed for one of the biggest SB chokes ever (based on talent, there have been "lucky to be there" teams that flopped as expected).
