I haven't watched the inauguration live since I don't know Jimmy Carter?
I was usually working and even with Obama didn't have that much invested.
This time watching the inauguration seemed really important.
Like I had to make really fucking sure it was happening.
I actually sat through the whole thing just to be certain.
Besides Lady Gaga killed the Anthem and Michelle looked like a undercover superhero.

^ Same here. Usually just another pomp and ceremony yawner for me.

I needed to see the Inauguration.

Earlier I needed to see Conman Trump leave, and hear what he had to say. More half truths, lies, and Trump-O-Vision to spare.

Lady Gaga, meh. She didn't butcher it.

    You think it's FINALLY over?

    Hah! Think again.

OK, Biden and Harrison are in. Period.

But that doesn't mean the challenges are over.

Rand Paul, US Senator (R) KY, has promised to spend the next two years investigating how some states illegally bypassed the state legislature to change their voting laws.

    Seriously? More election fraud bullshit?

I hope Paul is just posturing. Or gets no support and has to let it drop. Hard. On his foot.

What I am hoping is that his constituents get tired of this grandstanding bullshit and vote his ass out.

I think the question is going to be whether the Democratic Party makes substantial policy shifts towards Progressive goals, or seeks to stabilize through moderate policy.

Much like the reaction to passing the date of the end of the Mayan Calendar, I'll be curious to see the reaction to the U.S. not being under martial law to bring about Trump's second term.

Opinion | Trump Lost to Himself — The Wall Street Journal

Interesting article on the election stats and polls

Comes from the Wall Street Journal, which is fairly conservative
And includes T team’s own polls

So basically, he shot himself in the foot.

People, including Republicans, prefer sure and steady.
Makes sense in a global crisis.

The article says "Mr. Trump had many accomplishments to tout..."

Such as? The only consistent one I've seen mentioned (and not just by Conman Trump) is the economy. And that was growing before he was elected. Many of his lesser "accomplishments" are debatable.

White college educated voters moved away from Conman....fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
