I see Trump as the issue with a clear and stated platform under Trump.

    Can Trump be controlled?

Is Conman Trump willing and able to change, be a team player following a playbook, given his extreme narcissism?

    Nope, not at all.
    He does what he wants.

The only thing that they may be able to do is talk him out of it at the moment in time.

But he won’t be a team player.
To him, it’s all about him.

    He’s not just a narcissist, he’s a megalomaniac.
    Truly

Just doesn’t have brains like those in the comics
Just pure audacity and the ability to con others.

    kramus what I might see

A strange, strange man. He’s willing to give 45* a tongue bath, but is afraid to be in the same room as any woman who’s not his wife.

They should have said yes, just give NASA the budget the DOD has...

It would take decades to find the right object to put at I think the L4 Lagrange point to apply some gravitational pull, and it would be even harder to get the rockets and fuel onboard this massive object to move it into the right position.

    That’s hilarious :D

However, I don’t even want to speculate
Many get stuck on an idea, whether good or not...even yrs after

And don’t want even think of the consequences of moving the moon.
Geez talk about humans affecting climate change

That would be a worse black hole of funds than the new F-35 fighter. (And I’m all about spending as much possible on NASA...I’m still pissed about letting the Shuttle fade away)

Republican Congressman Madison Cawthorn Casually Suggests Armed Citizens Should Overthrow the Government — Vanity Fair

What I want to know, is when are they going to put these “Nazi” wanna be’s in jail???

I’m all about freedom of speech
But sedition IS against the law.

You’re not aloud to yell “fire” in a crowded theater
Not should you be allowed to suggest violence.

    Although, I will say this…
IF they do want to go against the US government
    (especially now that they’re warned)
They may be in for a surprise.

All their machine guns are no match for the military, national guard or even larger police force.
It is NOT the same thing as when our nation was founded and the 2nd amendment put in place.

Hell, it’s not even the same as the Civil War, WWI or WWII…

    Good luck
    They know you’re coming now
You may be safer in jail.

Cawthorn said some stupid things, but I'm not seeing anything that justifies the title of the article. Very Vaguely Suggests, or better yet Makes Ambigious Statements, perhaps.

Anyone here familiar with my posts knows I don't support many Republican politicians, or the GOP in general. I think anyone promoting, or even supporting (including silent consent), sedition needs to be arrested and put on trial.

A radical left wing movement has a certain appeal, but....no, not in our current volatile political climate.

THIS is the elephant in the room.
It’s not the party it used to be.

It’s now a linear philosophy, no compromise.

And with a tyrannical method, wants to press their way.
With a demagogue at the head.

Opinion | The Nation Needs a Reality-Based G.O.P. Only the Kook Caucus Is Stepping Up.

The Kook Caucus - it actually has a ring to it. Like summoning a non-friendly Lurch.
But this dynamic for the GOP is like the virus.
It will harm others if it continues (including the nation)

Ironically, their denial of health will make them die.
It will also make the Fed investigate groups and resources, due the insurrection screams and actions.

It's almost as IF they want to destroy themselves, but destroy as much as they can while they do it.
The whole definition of self-destructive tendencies ...and toxic habits.
Like they're a sketchy drug user, in a rotting drug house.

It IS a shame, because I liked some of the philosophies of the GOP of old.
But it IS their responsibility to take care of themselves.. (a conservative ideal)
and everyone else, to stay out of their way and make sure the rest of the houses don't burn down.

COVID Cases In Parts Of Missouri And Arkansas Surge To Levels Not Seen Since Winter — NPR

I’d normally post this in the Coronavirus thread
But I want to be political.

THIS is going to be the next downfall of the GOP
    Why???

Because, the attitude and obstinate denial of the impact of the virus, will affect republicans more than democrats.

The nation is fairly even, back and forth, between the parties.
Enough so that the GOP is betting vote repression will tip the scales in their favor.

Problem is THIS, Mother Nature is pressing her very large thumb on the scale in Dems favor.

You can’t vote if you’re dead.
You are unlikely to vote if you’re hospitalized or very sick.
    * especially with less email voting *

    Sooo…
In the next year or so, before the next the election
    There will be MORE deaths
More so for Republicans, because they deny it or ignore it.
(Not wishing this on them, I truly wish it were otherwise…just a fact and factor)

    This will affect the House
    This will affect the Senate
This will affect the Presidential election
This will even affect state level…all levels of government and control.

50-50 will turn 49-51 - gop vs Dems respectfully
    That’s what wins elections.

Doesn’t help the GOP, the Dems have also finally figured it out.
Stopped being polite dups, starting to be serious and act on it. (Frankly, seeing what happened, they’re alarmed, if not afraid)

So the GOP not shooting themselves in the foot,
They’re shooting themselves in the head.
Russian roulette, they’re just too stubborn to be aware.

    That’s a shame.
I truly wish all parties played fair, sane and smart.
It just ain’t so these days.

We’ve got a drug addiction that slowly killing them off…bit by bit.

    Definitely a shame.

With what the state GOP leaders are doing in Tennessee, and a bunch of other states to try and block vaccine passports, vaccine mandates, and to use political peer pressure to keep people from getting a shot, maybe there needs to be an online counter where it tracks the political affiliation of the people who are unvaccinated and dying. Or are they upset and worried that Biden and the Democrats will get credit for getting the vaccine rolled out instead of on the GOP state leaders for re-opening things fast?

This is also one area where the GOP does have a valid point about Universal Healthcare. Everyone else's taxes shouldn't go to pay for the intensive care of people who didn't try and protect themselves from a virus, especially when there is a safe and mostly effective vaccine available.

See what Liz Cheney had to say about McCarthy — CNN Politics

It is NOT good, when a staunch Republican and serious conservative, calls you out on your leadership and commitment to the constitution.

Her GOP political dynasty cred is significant too.
And she’s not lacking for $$$ for her next election.

Well, at least there will be sanity on the investigation.

Republican voter says Trumpism is 'the greatest danger to this country right now'

Good perspective. Right on the money.
Nice to hear a Republican be not hypocritical and actually stand for conservative values. Against Trumpism.
He was articulate and even internationally aware. This is the way for intelligent discourse to be ...not rhetoric, not spin...but well thought out.

Too bad a majority in his party is taking the demagogue path. Voting for a devil.

The “Pelosi Republicans” are doing the RIGHT thing.

While the others are supporting tyranny
    A wannabe dictator.

The only flag that they have anymore to wrap around themselves is a false flag.
    Gold/Orange emblazoned with a huge T.

The only loyalty now, to those authoritarians and potential self-serving oligarchs allied to him.

They do not care about the people, no matter the words
At least those Republicans on the panel and supporting it, care about Americans and America.
And those values that we made it on.

    Wrap that up…and smoke it.
Because it sounds like T supporters are smoking something already…G-D crack.

Yep, it’s the whole MO of most of the GOP these days.

They’ve lost their souls, sanity and integrity.

This is not a Dem/GOP thing BTW…it’s tribal
    Them vs us.
Because once it was the Dems that were dicks and the GOP much less so.
    Then it reversed.

It seems much of the insanity and slime is coming from the so called Red States.
Not truly Red/Blue, the states are shades of purple.

It’s only 20% plus of the US that are radicalized and belligerent. And they seem to have been that way for over centuries.
AND unfortunately, they’re active aggressive and politically savvy from a populist angle.

They’ve constantly finding suckers with simple ideas and quotes.

Listen, the world is complicated, people are complicated, life is complicated.
It’s not a conservative, independent, liberal thing…or any shades of the political spectrum.

We just got to stop being assholes
And start finding situational solutions that work.
And they can come from anywhere.

    Can’t we just be adults?
    Sane adults?
    Intelligent sane adults...

    Very true.

However, they will never acknowledge their culpability in the deaths and harm of almost a million fellow citizens. (yes, it IS undercounted)

Nor the US, States and other levels of government baring the brunt of the costs of support and medical, etc

OR the extended $$$ lost from business because they’re continuing to be impacted by the virus dynamics.

It’s only about getting THEIR way.
Support from their own crazy base.
Getting $$$ from corrupt biz and their supporters.

This IS beyond normal political corruption
    This has made America, weaker.
