NFL 2021

I don't see a new football thread created yet so here goes.
    LET'S GO BUFFALO!
In current news, if I were the Texans and any team offered me a package that included 2 first rounders for D. Watson I would scream "Yes" and immediately make the deal.
There are some serious clouds over his future in the NFL. What they are reputed to be asking for is absurd.
The only idiots who would pony up what they are asking for already work for the Texans, so there's no trade there.

I think the NFL itself will take it relatively easy on Watson. If he is convicted of rape or sexual assault, and serves prison time, that could take him out for while.

I'm in no way defending Watson. He's fairly young, 25 or 26. If he was out for say three years, and stayed in reasonably good shape, he could still have a long NFL career.

It would actually benefit the Texans if the NFL would suspend Watson. If they didn’t have to pay him, and he still "belonged to" the Texans once his suspension ended.

The Texans could set a NFL record: The first NFL team with a 0-17 regular season record. That would go nicely with the Oilers record for blowing the biggest lead in a NFL playoff game.

    ...........

CBS 60 Minutes did a great story on Alex Smith, watched it last night.

    ...........

Did I read correctly, Ryan Fitzpatrick is being paid 10M this season?

    ...........

Two names I'm glad that I'm not hearing or reading about, Colin Kaepernik and Johnny Manziel.

I'm not generally an emotional person but watching replays of that Bills-Oilers playoff game brings tears to my eyes. It's seeing the fans rejoicing and going wild in the stands that does it. It makes me proud to be a Bills fan and to have lived in Buffalo.

I don't want to get cocky but I sure wouldn't want to be out there playing defense when Josh Allen comes to the line in a 4 receiver set.

    It totally sucked. Opposite perspective.

Listening to Pardee (who's firing was delayed for some unknown reason) blame one of the best FG kickers in the NFL for missing a long field, was unbelievable to the point of not seeming real.

Some people want the Texans to give Cam a try. I'm not opposed, I just don't know how he compares to Tyrod. But if Cam is anti-vaccination as reported, which he doesn't deny, let him stay unemployed.

I think getting rid of Cam was going to happen sooner or later for the Pats; I didn't see any upside to him being there.
I thought they wanted him to at least start a few games though, to let the rookie get on his feet a little before being thrown to the wolves.

A very quick look...seems like he's never really had the chance to stick with a team to establish himself, gets booted by high draft pick QBs.

I see the Texans drafting a QB in 2022, and bringing in a real HC in 2023. What kind of team we'll eventually have in place is largely unknown. It might be the 2023 season before the Texans are competitive in the AFC South.

My feelings toward Brady are well known, but I'll repeat them: Go away! Retire! You have many NFL records that will never be broken. You are and will remain the GOAT NFL QB. You have more money than you can spend. You have a hot former super model wife. You proved you don't need Belichick. Retire! Go away!

But my anti-Brady sentiments aren't quite as strong as my anti-dallas cowgirls feelings.

    Reluctant congrats, Bucs.
    Sincere FY, cowgirls.

At this point I have no idea what will derail the Brady train.
Is he going to be playing and winning at 50?

I agree with brady, Just go the fuck away.
He was asked why he is still playing and he is quoted "I WOULD TRADE IN TWO OF MY SUPER BOWL RINGS FOR THE PERFECT SEASON, I WANT A PERFECT SEASON".
Not gonna happen atleast I hope not.

    Dak looked good,
the dallas kicker just seemed to have to knock the rust off. He took the blame for the loss

My prediction is that Stafford will have 5000+ passing yards this year.

If he stays healthy all season, I would definitely not bet against it. That's a QB/HC combo made in heaven.

Channel surfing, nothing decent on (no pay "TV" for us). Decided to see how badly the Texans would suck.

As of half time the Texans are playing well, and the Jaguars aren't. The Texans 37 seconds drill looked good. 27-7 could force Lawrence into making even more mistakes.

"Ryan Tannehill? My name is Chandler Jones."

    ****
Uh, weren’t the Bills supposed to win?

    ***
Not a good start for the Falcons. How long will Ryan remain the starter?

    ***
Nice win for the Texans (I don't like the defense giving up the very late TD), but but but
the Jags defense isn't exactly feared.

That was one sorry ass performance by the Bills.
Outcoached and outplayed in front of the home crowd on opening day.

    Josh Allen was a mess.
And for the last 6 months all I hear is how they are going to improve the pass rush.
Well Big Ben is a statue, playing behind a new offensive line and they barely made him break a sweat.
    Terrible.

I think the Bills have been reading a little too much of their positive press. Heads a little swollen before even playing a game methinks.
They have lots to work on at practice this week.

Yes they were, I was shocked.

Knowing Arthur Blank, he will start all year. And after yesterday their are a lot of people calling for his head.

The Bengal's came back which surprised me

    The Dolphins....really the dolphins
