I don’t think Biden blew it, although he made the call to get out…which was good.

It was the Pentagon and the field generals that blew it.
Also, the State Dept and ambassador.
They assumed the Afghanistan president and govt would hold up
They also assumed the Afghanistan army and regulars would hold tighter
Both were wrong and then some
THEN they were slow to move to react or adjust

Biden isn’t god, nor does he do everything
That’s what everyone else is for.

The arrogance that we got in it with
Was also the arrogance that screwed our leave

Then again, Russia and England also did the same.
And if anything, lost more and more resources and money. They bled it, especially Russia which starved itself for it. The $$$ is smaller in relative term, even if the number is large.

The US actually grew the civilization more.
So it’s not all a loss, the people are much more sophisticated and educated now, having access to more, how to use it and to expect it.

The Taliban, while successful with their blitzing,
Is going to find the country and people VERY different and likely more difficult to rule and stay that way. It will likely turn into death by a 1000 cuts for their reboot term.

The US isn’t totally gone either. And now China, Russia, India, etc will be involved too. The Taliban will have to keep its nose clean once it stabilizes.

Biden just saved the US lots of future money
    And lots of future headaches.

The Pentagon has got to stop presuming their superiority and everything will just be a cakewalk.
People on the other side can pull triggers too.
    AND they live there…

Fair enough, but it doesn't leave Biden blameless. And it begs the question regarding the quality of the people Biden put in place to keep him properly informed.

How Biden handles Afghanistan, namely changes how things are being done in Afghanistan, is extremely important to his presidency.

By this time next year most of the midterm elections campaigns will be in full force. I hope the mess in Afghanistan will have been resolved in a positive way...for the USA.

Afghanistan itself appears to be on track to become another India. In the sense it's a country that's a cesspool for the majority of its citizens, with little (no) hope for improvement.

That's a very well written article, even if a little asskissy. But it's intended to introduce her, so to say, not to attack her.

In reality the best action for Biden is keep up the evacuation, don't retaliate. But that is not what people want to hear. We, generally speaking, want to react violently when our soldiers are killed.

If I were Taliban leadership, I would be extremely angry with any group taking action against US troops. Because I would not want to give the US any reason to hang around in Afghanistan.

IMHO, after the big spotlight of the evacuations
Dark ops is going to begin…

Special forces, etc. will be going in for cleanup
    Removing and destroying US equipment

Drone and bombs for strikes vs the Taliban
Looks like despite their words and propaganda
    They’re doing SSDD…like Dick Dastardly

So you’ll get most of support from the world for the US to slap them around a bit…get their act together, be civilized

Russia & China doing their typical protests and shaming
But still enjoying the benefits as the US does their dirty work.
As they’ve done for the past 20 years

They know damn well, the US isn’t staying despite the requests from the UK, Japan, India and EU

    We’ve moved out
Now the Taliban will have to deal with the world neighborhood watch.

Biden names former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu to oversee infrastructure plan

Smart move, having someone specifically hired to help manage 1.2 Trillion distribution and execution.
This way someone can coordinate, make there's no corruption, politicians and bureaucrats to interfere less, get over roadblocks and put boots on the ground...actually working and fixing things.

Let's hope he does a good job. We need this done right.

I wish could rate this ^ agree and optimistic.

This definitely needs to be handled correctly, even more so than normal. The conservative assmouths are already blaming every thing on Biden, and the smallbrains are believing it because it beats thinking about how most of what's happening was inevitable regardless of who is POTUS.

I wonder if Landrieu will run for President in 2024? He might be one of the better choices to have a successful run.

    Now, here’s the difference.
The US President is the President of ALL
The taxes we pay in, go to ALL
    Biden gets it.

He understands this, the federal government kicks in where there’s need, no matter the location or politics.

    Y’know who’s not there? T
    Y’know who hasn’t said anything? T
Y’know who hasn’t donated a cent of his billions or setup a fund? T
Because he really does NOT care
    Not for anyone but himself.

And even when he was prez, he withheld funds from opposing areas and groups…or at least tried.

    Biden honors his oath.
    TFG didn’t.

    Completely different
    Completely opposite

As part of "Build Back Better", a big thing needs to be new housing building codes to bring hurricane level protections to the entire eastern US. Hurricane straps on roofs, better windows and doors, and improved materials and insulation. Every house should have a reinforced pantry or bathroom on the ground level. It is cheap to do it right the first time, but it costs a lot of money and effort to redo existing homes, but that also needs to be done.

The IRS has a form that lists all of the natural disasters that have been declared that I came across a few days ago, and I don't think the storms will be getting less frequent anytime soon.

Saw marine force one today, heading from Denver International to the Marshall fire location. It was preceded by a couple of v-22 ospreys carrying marines. Yesterday, three ospreys flew over my work training for today. Then Biden threw rolls of paper towels out of the helicopter on people. Truly a man of the people. I'm totally kidding. We're mostly white here, unlike Puerto Rico. Trump thought he was resupplying housekeepers.
