Rudy Giuliani subpoenaed in January 6 investigation

    Oh, this should be entertaining...
    Where's the popcorn?

The man is actually more insane than T.
Will he actually go for it???

Most are resisting. taking a risk. But this guy is madder than a hatter.

Counselori Giuliani might be crazy...like fox. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he's putting on a fake dementia act.

That would be interesting. Wasn’t he an almost legendary legal gladiator who would laugh at the futility of a defender using the dementia defence?
Plus he has an ego. After 9/11 he spent a fair bit of time hanging around Ground Zero, and he always took off his mask if he saw cameras. He’d be unwilling to be seen as a demented, useless has-been (legally, in a court of law - I’ve generally found him to be that way for a while).

US Supreme Court denies Trump request to block January 6 committee from obtaining presidential records

New York Attorney General: We Found ‘Significant Evidence’ of Trump Organization Fraud

Maybe we should make the title plural - Probe(s)

SCOTUS says no soup for you!
And NY says, gotcha motherfucker (Bronx style)

It's going to be a early Spring thaw for this Abominable Snowman.
He's going to have flooding, won't be able to plug the leaks.

Wish it was going to be a Tidal Wave...a Hurricane...the Levies breaking or such.
But it's going to be more of a waters rising, climate change thing, triggering wood rot and mold.

T's house of cards will collapse sooner or later.

I was curious to see the early Fox News coverage of SCOTUS’s ruling. I scrolled past everything right down to the legal stuff at the bottom of Fox’s page. Multiple repeats of president bashing stories (not ex presidents though). Couldn’t find it.
Eventually I used their own search function to find it. All the comments for the report are from satisfied citizens glad to see the law working even with *45’s loaded bench. The comments are thumbs up, with a good many specifically mentioning how Fox had hidden the news even though other SCOTUS stories are readily found on the main page.
I’m following less US news these days. It’s healthy in this pandemic to avoid a lot of unnecessary stress. But this story of *45 (and his kids) mired ever more deeply in their own shit is one I’m glad to have updated.
    *edit bedamned typos

I think Counselori Giuliani's sense of survival can be stronger than his ego when necessary. Avoiding prison time and not providing any useful testimony could feed his ego, albeit in a different way than being perceived of as being smart & tough. But guessing what goes on in Counselori Giuliani's mind is just that, guessing.

Trump Considered Directing Pentagon To ‘Seize’ Voting Machines, Draft Order Shows

And people called me a "conspiracy theorist"
It's not that I was kooky...it's the fact he WAS doing it...not just thinking it...PLANNING it.
It's just someone talked him out of it.

Same when he was considering to lock down the whole DC/MD/VA region at the beginning of the pandemic.
I had my high up resources from multiple places...AND someone at the Executive Office confirmed it.
It's just that someone talked him out of it.

If someone talks a madman off of a side of a building.
You don't say to one of the people who heard about the event from the cops, they're imagining things.

And BTW, you don't keep catering to the madman.

Let's hope they call him on his craziness.

Frankly, I don't blame them for using these tactics.
T was trained by Roy Cohn and other mobsters to use a variety of gangster and mobster techniques in hiding his activities in business.
And these were apparently utilized in the days of his administration.

All we can be thankful for is they were quite incompetent and sloppy.

And all we can hope for, is the investigators are fast enough to do something about it...before the powers are taken away. (and they WILL be, once another party gets power)
    The clock is ticking.
    Better act faster.

The GOP isn't taking this lying down.
They're starting to press and squirm.

People in unique professions tend to protect their own; LEOs, doctors, attorneys, & politicians are four prime examples. Since a large percentage of politicians are also attorneys it makes sense they are especially protective, even across party lines.

Until we see people actually going to prison for ignoring congressional subpoenas and lying under oarh the practices will continue. The resistance to making this happen is strong in both parties because of the bonds between politicians and attorneys. Also most politicians live in glass houses.

They're playing hardball...something the Dems aren't really getting.
It's not about the nation anymore, it's about beyond even party, it's about "their side".

They're doing ALL they can do to win.
Any trick, any play, any cheat.
All words are to accuse, abuse and prevent investigation.
All actions are to attack and hide.

We're dealing with toxic malicious thugs.
    They aren't civil.
Any diplomacy is a smokescreen and CYA.

    Expect everything.
    Expect the unexpected.
And it's going to get worse.
They're addicted to a mindset now.

The same slippery slope that drove many atrocities to happen...bit by bit.
It's like watching a whole group slowly go mad. Re-enforcing the negative.

The only thing the opposition and sane folks can do is prevent them from gaining power more.
    Sad but true.
    Wish it were otherwise.

I didn't think that they would have been as incompetent as they ended up being. But I also believed that there were a lot of protections and restrictions on the White House that weren't law or failed.

If the outrageous stuff didn't happen out in the open, I do wonder how much the previous administration could have gotten away with.

But that is what is really scary about a lot of the GOP governors that are competent and non-controversial. Or even the controversial ones aren't as explicit and upfront about it.

A New Version Of The Mueller Report Reveals That Mueller Declined To Charge Donald Trump Jr. And Roger Stone With Computer Crimes

Unfortunately, I can see why he skipped...can't do anything about ethics for non-officials.
And the action was minor in a legal context. (ex: info gained and used by a publicly released password isn't a significant crime. T Jr's lawyers would have chewed thru it in the long run)
We're dealing with people who push the lines of the law to their limits.
Anything hit with them has to be solid and unambiguous. Completely substantive.
Otherwise, they'll slip through...OR the punishment will not fit the impact...just a slap on the wrist effectively.

Mueller was also dealing with being under an administration that would have given ANY benefit of the doubt to the rotten apples here.
Once T was in charge...his cronies allowed rats to crap everywhere. (even if done before his office started)
Only Obama could have acted beforehand...and he chose to not act to not seem partisan.

Perhaps Biden could do something...but statute of limitations come into play.
And other legal restrictions...there has to be a preponderance of evidence.
Maybe they're delving into this now...
But that takes time. He just got in last year...his leadership only got approved half way through the year.

*shrug* who knows what they've found...it's a long process.
Especially if your criminals use every legal trick in the book.

sorry too many graphics and popups to quote
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/interactive/2022/texting-insurrection/

Now WHY does Fox News hosts have direct influence on the White House???:mad:
There's so many conflicts of interest...back and forth...if not laws broken.
    Especially DURING a crisis.

How can a news agency be telling the WH what do do?
Then going on TV and acting like they're reporting "nonpartial".

The texts are profound...not just from the crisis which was NOT addressed.
But taking cues and direction...from a commercial entity.

It's not a news agency anymore...it's a government entity...or at least a non-registered lobbying group. (which has regulations)
    This is scary stupid.
