The problem is that it isn't just the former President. If it isn't him, they will do the same thing to get a different conservative leader installed.

I'd say they did a good job of recounting the day as well as laying out some background.
If it continues this way I think it'll change some of the publics view of it and how serious it is and how real it all is, what he's done from the get go.
But I do see some are just too far gone.
I wonder what it takes to break K McCarthy's pathetic denial boot licking. Louie Gohmert is the only one who seems really, just too stupid to understand and actually believes this shit.
Everyone else is in a complicit con game they don't want to be in but somehow, trump owns them. I keep thinking trump is holding blackmail cards on all of them for some bad behavior, or maybe actually threatening violence, maybe with his proud boy oath keeper type soldiers ?
Well Kevin, tow the line, or watch your back. Take your pic. I can hear tump say shit like that in his sleep.

Anyway, yeah hopefully this series will whittle 1/3rd down to 1/4.

On the media, I'm on board with Rachel Maddow's pov but I'd really appreciate her not snarking and snickering with joy at every gotcha moment she can.
It's not time to joke or gloat. It's bad form and alienates those you might be able to turn with presenting reality in way that dosn't sound like your putting people down. The goal is to bring them up to speed with reality not piss them off more.

Insightful analysis and dot connection is great but the news isn't for shit talking (your fellow Americans) till they go and watch Hannity or Carlson shit talk replacement theroy or the travesty of happy holidays on a Starbucks paper cup.

You don't spend 3 hrs trying to get a dog to come when you call and when he finally does, spank him for taking so long.

It'll be re hashed adnausium by everyone on tv, the indi web waiters and tubers... unfortunately people will find the spin they like best and live there.

Still, good start. Hopefully good enough to bring some back to reality..

What I'm hoping is that it lights a fire under the DOJ
    and they start arresting folk.

This is just putting it out there...but I doubt it's going to change any of the deniers
And the Dems are too weak-willed to chase after them and make it pressured. (something the GOP is good at...and the Dems submit to)

It's almost like a bunch of frat bullies vs scholastic nerds. (cliche ) * and I'm a nerd too.

The Dems need to be like Revenge of the Nerds
but I don't think they will follow through...they'll just shake their fists and wring their hands.
I hope they prove me wrong.

Because the Senate ain't gonna do shit.
and if the GOP gets control this November it will all be shut down and hushed up.

    All for naught.

They won't reveal a smoking gun (plural would be great) in NPD Trump's hands. Lying under oath has become a badge of fealty to be rewarded. The people who knew what was going to happen won't give honest answers. Let's not forget that while NPD Trump very likely knew something big was going to happen, his people very like withheld enough info to give him plausible deniability.

The Senate won't take action. The war of attrition employed by the Republicans will continue. People don't like ugly news, and will avoid/ignore it more and more as time passes.

The best we can hope for is voters turning against Republican candidates at the polls. The problem is inflation and gas prices are currently hitting nearly everyone directly, while the o6 Jan 21 insurrection is "old news."

In Jan. 6 cases, 1 judge stands out as the toughest punisher | WTOP News

Also...another factor. It depends on what judge and prosecutor you have, if there's justice and punishment.
It's tribal and political here too.

If you get a Trump or GOP judge, often they lean over backwards to excuse or be lenient. (for THIS context...not other cases)
If you get a Obama or Dem judge, they will be neutral on the rules, but they will punish if found guilty.
Same for pushing for papers and subpoenas.

Problem in getting this done with some appropriate action...is a third of the nation (including the powers that be) don't want to deal with it.
THIS is why we have so many rules, regulations and standards.
Because there are people in power that are biased and won't often do the right thing.

Let's hope the majority wins...but often, they're not aggressive about it.

Politicians live in glass houses and houses of cards. The transgressions by some Democrats might be lower on the scale than those of the Republicans being investigated, but they can still cause problems. Throwing rocks and making rapid movements aren't in their best interest.

Gawd forbid should politicians from both parties put our country ahead of getting re-elected and increasing or gaining control.

As has been posted many times: We need a judicial body with the clear legal authority to take action, and punish those who won't cooperate. But as we've also seen politicians can and will turn that process into a war of attrition.

One thing is pretty sure, if you throw trump and every other denier under the bus for the sake of reality and attempt to get real with Americans, a person can still preserve some integrity and come out like John Dean. Book deals and commentary on reality based news shows...
You wouldn't spend your life eating ramen and spam soup.
You may fend off death threats daily like the guy who owns comet pizza where pizzagate started, but he's alive and isn't rolling in massive book deal and talking head cash.

Otherwise it's life in a house of fragile cards and clenched butthole, constantly upholding lies and trying to mesh your lies with others random lies forever.

    Seems pretty clear to me.

I didn't see it today but I'm hearing that they're pointing out how, it's not just a big lie, but the big grift. And how money's for the court cases were being used for personal gain (no shit)

But then on Don Lemon's show a guy is pointing out not just that his supporters were conned out of their money, Ashley Babbitt was conned out of her life.
So I'm like...of course there were..
But I'm hoping that's a point that might get some traction with the Ampeeps who have been conned, defrauded out of so much.
It would seem there's legal exposure to exploit there.

It's all so absurd. I guess that's the whole point. Baffle em with bullshit taken to ... as far as it can go ?

Ginni Thomas corresponded with John Eastman, sources in Jan. 6 House investigation say

But Justice Thomas isn't going to resign or recuse himself from anything.
He'll ride his seat all the way to end until he croaks.
    No shame...never has.

Until something is actually DONE, the corruption will continue and the US will go downhill.
Complaints don't work, you've got to act.

But no matter what...something WEIRD is going on. Insidious.
Like something Hollywood wrote up...a political thriller kind of like "Get Out".

Former Watergate prosecutor says Georgia election probe could "send Donald Trump to prison" — Axios

The Devil went down to Georgia…

    Georgia may be T’s Waterloo.
New York is taking its time going after the $$$
The Feds are after him too…but there’s a question of a literal law to break to make a crime.
This is unprecedented…Congress may not have any.

But election manipulation may be a thing to tag him with.
And the AG down there doesn’t like him for screwing with him.

Frankly, I hope they have many anchors to tie to him and pull him down.
    The more, the better, IMHO.

We’re going to have to play that fiddle hard.

Jan. 6 committee delays hearing schedule until July — The Hill

More meat for the sausage grinder.
Don’t wanna show how it’s made.
    But it’s delish so far.

Hope it becomes a staple in our diet.

    They are playing it careful.
Hopefully they’re starting to share a bit with the FBI to get the ball started.

But I understand why, FBI would lock down everything, under “ongoing investigation”.
Then the panel wouldn’t have any dick pics to share.

And the subjects are ALL dicks.

Yet another corrupt connection to unravel.
Another layer to the rotten onion to cut through.

Gotta admit, T has created a Gordian Knot of enormous size.

But the strings were mixed up by the Keystone Kops
All going in a mad square dance to Yakkety Sax/Bennie Hill theme song.

Fortunately, just gotta follow the gasoline trail from the original explosion. They had holes in their tanks…

Some of the testimony regarding NPD Trump and his manipulation of the DOJ sounded pretty damning.

The questions are was any of it actually illegal, and can anything be done to keep NPD Trump from again running for public office.
