This is turning out to be one of the best summers we have had in a long time.
The weekend was perfect lake weather. Bright sun, temps in the 80's.
Then a cold front came through Sunday ovenight to Monday morning, gave everything a nice drink and has dropped temperatures again.
Our high today will be right around 70.

I like these cycles with a couple of warm summery days followed by a cool down. We dont have AC in our house and it keeps it nice and comfortable.
Last night was around 50 and we had the windows open for sexy fun time and great sleep!

Sounds like here. Only difference is here you add at least 80% humidity

    Finally getting a little rain.
Between my allergies going nuts from all the crap in the air (somewhat literally - there is a lot of dried up dog poop left over from winter floating around out there) and the state catching on fire, we really needed it.

The forecast for the center of the country starting a week from now is truly frightening.
We have been very fortunate up here that those broiling air masses have not been able to shift north and east.

After having a month solid of sun, it's been raining for most of July.
That's Alaska we don't get anything in half measures.
People were freaking out because there was new snow on the mountains yesterday.

I want to send positive thoughts to @fflowley and everybody getting hit by the snow & the cold.

Six and a half feet of snow in 24 hours in Buffalo, NY. With more to come tonight.

Six and half feet of snow in 24 hours is a bitch even for Alaska.
    Stay safe.

    Thanks for the warm wishes!
We are in central NY, and we have a few inches of snow on the ground but nothing like Buffalo and Watertown.
Those lake effect snow bands drop massive amounts of snow on very focused areas.
We lived in Buffalo for a storm just like this one in November 2000.
You have to see it and experience it for yourself to believe it.

Oops, I thought you lived in/near Buffalo.

The news coverage showing the sheets of snow coming off the lake was awesome, & scary as hell. They also mentioned the possibility of snow lightening, which I had never heard of.

    Thundersnow.
    Amazing phenomenon.
You are walking around in pouring snow, harder than you have ever seen it snow and there is lightning and booming thunder in the sky just like a summer thunderstorm.

That blew my mind the first time I saw it in NJ.
We rarely ever get thunder and lightning in AK so it was pretty cool to see the storms in the summer.
Jadzia had to drag me out of the street because I would stand out there and watch the first few months.
The first time I saw it in the winter, it was like... what kind of fresh hell is this?
