Exclusive video from inside Uvalde school shows officers' delayed response to mass shooting

    I'll state up front, I'm not anti-police.

But what I saw in this video is pathetic.
They had police in there by 3 minutes after shooting....and ran away.
Didn't go back in until MUCH later with tons more cops, armor, shields, etc.

I know there's reality, logistics, time to respond, traffic, etc...it's real, everything counts, that's fair.
But they were THERE!!! guns out and behind walls.

But they scrambled backwards...while young children and teachers died.
No armor or shields to protect the kids.

    Just horrible.
I do hope that someone with more police or security background can give input on what they see in this clip.

The Uvalde school shooting has remained big news here in Texas.

The multiple incidents of incompetence, indecision, & cowardice is truly mind-boggling.

The police in Uvalde erected a blue shield. The mayor & city council have stonewalled. I'm shocked that the state investigation was so critical of how the shooting was handled.

Uvalde School District police police chief Pedro "Pete" Arrenondo appears to believe his self-serving delusion that he wasn't in charge.

Sorry, I could go on forever about how this small town police department, and other law enforcement agents, let who only knows how many children bleed to death while they listened to an incompetent coward.

The state police gave their initial report about five days after the shooting, which presented a reasonably accurate time line of inaction. The response by LEOs on the scene was called "an abject failure." It turns out the Uvalde city council had approached them with a report that was far less critical of how the situation was handled. The state police rejected the report.

The state investigative report, and the body cam footage (which was leaked early in the week), is scheduled to be released today. I do NOT trust any Texas law enforcement agency at any level to be completely honest about how the shooting was handled. Hopefully the federal investigation will name names and attach responsibility.

My understanding is all of the LEOs and their respective agencies are protected from being sued; it's starting to appear that severe criticism is the worse they will suffer. For now the only benefit I see is other LEAs can use the Uvalde school shooting as a study in how not to handle a school shooting.

Beau has a good take on the report.
He feels the report itself is part of the systemic failures.

Politicians, government agencies, and reports. Start an investigation, take your time. Release a preliminary report that doesn't really say anything useful. Take more time before releasing the final report. Use as much time as possible to let the initial furor die down (word choice intentional).

The report released is preliminary. BUT I would bet good money the final report will be the same: It will not name names, it will not assign specific blame.

We need accountability. The two Uvalde police chiefs, regular police and school district police, should've already been fired (administrative leave WITH pay? Sign me up!). The officers who first arrived should be identified. If they did nothing wrong (setting aside doing nothing) give their names.

    Edit:
Pete/Pedro Arrendodo, Chief of Uvalde School District Police.
Lt. Mariano Pargas, acting Chief of Uvalde Police Deprtment on May 24, 2022.

Be brutal. Some/many of the 21 people killed, 19 children & two adults, bled to death while many of the around 375 LEOs on the scene did nothing.

The officials who attempted to influence (water down) the initial state police report should also be held accountable. The "Narrative" they wrote is mostly lies and bullshit.

If we hold everyone to be responsible, then no one is responsible.

Which is exactly what the very broad & general preliminary report does.

    "Systemic failure." No shit, geniuses.
